I also got some crimps jumpers test leads and a set of micro screwdrivers. And small crimp on ends for the 26 gauge ribbon cable to make installation of the 7i77 easier.

Ok 1st hiccup. In configuring the linux cnc my 5i25 card is not listed for basic machine config. Any ideas or thoughts. Also no internet to the linux pc.

As a first step, I would get internet working, then update Linuxcnc to 2.5.4

Is there anyway to upgrade thru a usb key. The pc I am using has a wireless card. (can't tell if it is working. Where is the device manager) and the modem is across the house. Don't really want to break down the pc move it then bring it back

I thought that LinuxCNC 2.5.4 had the xml files the pncconf needs but maybe not

Having no luck getting the files into locations. I tried the auto way and using sudo nautilus.The file is unreadable and has a white x on it

Heres one way to do it:
download 5i25_xml.zip
firefox puts this is your Download directory
so now
download 5i25_xml.zip
firefox puts this is your Download directory
so now
cd ~
cd Downloads
sudo cp 5i25_xml.zip /lib/firmware/hm2/
cd /lib/firmware/hm2
sudo unzip 5i25_xml.zip
