two minor mistakes:
1. Theres a space between cd and ~
2. its Downloads, not Download
(I fixed the "Download" forum entry)

I duplicated those steps and it works for me
that is, there's a new directory on /lib/firmware/hm2 = 5i25
and it has 3 xml files in it (which pncconf requires)
Not sure about the file browser

Just a guess, but in Linux a directory/folder needs the "exec" bit set, and "zip" removes permissions.

cd /lib/firmware/hm2
ls -l
drwxr-xr-x 2 root root 4096 Feb 25 2012 5i25
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 2060 Jul 4 19:20 5i25_xml.zip
cd 5i25
ls -l
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 9558 Dec 11 2011 7i76x2.xml
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 9820 Feb 25 2012 7i77x2.xml

Ok in Pncconfig and a little lost. I am trying to config my 5i25-7i77 combo.
I am on the window that says Meso0 Configuration-Board: 5i25 firmware 7i77 x1
I have tabs for configuration page I/O connector 2 and 3 an Smart Serial 0 and 1
Where do I define x y and z axis and my spindle (my spindle is actually a large 6k servo motor)
Again thanks to everyone here

You might want to ask PNCConf specific
questions in the PNCConf forum section
(I know I dont know enough to answer PNCConf questions)

Ok spent more time on the machine today. I tried a 1.5v battery test on the z axis. I connected up the leas to the servo driver and nothing happene. Re connected the lines and got movement. If anyone has any ideas please chime in. Also still looking if anyone wants to make some cash finishing the conversion. I can afford apx. 1k for the work including any extra components.
