PWM and PDM are both the same thing, and in this case correspond to the spindle VFD output. Just leave them as they are.

Like Andy said the PDM is part of the settings for the analog output intended for controling the spindle VFD.
And the encoder is also intended for the spindle encoder.
Like Andy said, just leave those settings alone.
Ditto on the watchdog, pwm generators, and smart serial ports (leave them alone as well).

The 7i76 GPIO pins are listed on the 7i76 tab. (the last one).
The other tabs are (effectively) the parallel port pins. These are the step generators and smart-serial extension.

screen 4 7i76e tb4
analog output
seems like it doesn't have enough pins, the plug has 8 pins. how do these match up, do I need to add the other pins in somehow or is it a manual edit in the file later? tb4 connector has the vfd control
also all of the stepper motors connections are on tb2 and tb3 but there is no tb2 or 3 tab. spindle encoder is on tb3 as well.

The PnCConf "Pins" are HAL pins, there is not necessarily a 1:1 correspondence with physical terminals on the 7i76 board.
So , there are 3 physical pins for the analogue output (+, - and out) but only one HAL pin, and 2 physical pins but only one HAL pin for enable-out and dir-out.
In the case of the analogue output tab, all you can actually so is set it to "unused" or "spindle" so there isn't really much of a decision to be made.

dont really understand this yet but moving on. One good thing is the HAL file generated works fine with the Ethernet mesa 7i76e by only changing the ip address in the HAL file to 10.10.10.10
next page is screen 5
I only changed the stepper scale (guess for now)

Set the P-gain to 1000.
In later versions the PID values are not alterable, but the P-Gain is fortunately set to the right value.
