Judging by the pdf I think this is correct, not sure about the initial null though

"biss_chan_0=null%1bcrc%6fwarning%1berror%1bzero%2uencoder%24e"

(the added "zero" is for the zeros bits in the 26 bit position code"

Hi tommylight,

I'm an intern working for a manufacturing company in Dubai. i have been tasked to retrofit the sbz 130 which the company bought from a scrapyard few months ago. Basically I need the schematics of the sbz 130 but I can't find it anywhere online and all attempts to communicate with Elumatec directly had no results. My mentor said I could also try getting the assembly drawing to know the mechanisms but I'm hitting a dead end everywhere online. Is there any way you can help?

Thanks,
azim

Aside from the schematics, I have a question. When you retrofit the machine, do you remember what locking mechanism was present to lock the spindle to each tool after the tool is changed? Any sort of clutch or clamp mechanism (hydraulic/electric/mechanic, pneumatic)?

On the left side of the head is a small lid, remove it and check the worm gear inside.
Mine was badly worn so it would sometimes miss the exact position and fail to lock.
When locked manually, it never moves.
And yes it does use a clutch, it is very hard to access it and mine was worn badly so the tools would change even with it locked.
Despite all that, it is still in daily use, all day long, but the tool changer gets rarely used, drills and mills are the only tools they need.

Yeah, I opened the lid and found the wormgear. There seems to be a hexagon-shaped component on the top of the worm gear, it looks like it's made of MS but I'm not sure. I guess it must be a metallic target for the plastic component on top of it which looks like a sensor. What do you think?

On a side note, is it possible to use another controller plc but keep the same drive modules at least for the spindle and the supply unit using GSK controller or some other plc instead of Mesa cardsĀ and Linuxcnc?

Yes, if i recall correctly, that is one sensor for the toolchanger that tells the motor when to stop spinning, it also uses 4 more sensors in gray scale mode for counting the tools.
As for PLC, i never use them, nor do i plan to.
I use exclusively Mesa for everything, and no, i am not affiliate nor do i have any relations to them, their boards just work, 24/7 for years on end without a single issue ever, and their support is the best on planet earth, as you can find out on this topic/thread, i needed non standard firmware for the existing absolute encoders and got it from them the next day, Try that with any other company....

can we use mesa with the existing ferrocontrol motors?
And what mesa cards do we need in total?

On a side note, my employer also said he wishes to have another rotary milling head attachment, a circular saw with multi-axis movement. For this attachment, are there any extra things I need to consider when deciding the parts?
