epoxy granite cnc lathe was created by Masiwood123
hello everybody
new project to present, cnc lathe 4th axis for both wood and metal. it is under construction , i did alu frame and put epoxy quartz sand mix to construction-plan is to make it run with mesa 7i96s i ordered. thank you for every future assistance ,I hope that I will not have many questions and that I will finish the project without major problems:) I will post the progress here weekly. greetings vladimir www.youtube.com/shorts/u4lkFV5wVno

That should help a lot with damping vibrations, although i would have used metal in this case, more space to fill and heavier, but more work mounting stuff to it.

thanks Tom old mate! I agree that metal is better, but I don't have that tool, I would have to carry the construction to leveling.. this turned out really hard and heavy. I will post more pictures due to the lack of free time, I am limited to a couple of bolts per day:)
QUESTION FOR THE EXPERTS.. this will primarily work with smaller pieces of wood, and generally I will use the main head as the A axis, now during the operation it should also be used as the S command (spindle) so that the processed part will be cut by a classic knife. The drive motor is ac servo 1500rpm (encoder 10k ppr which can be divided into smaller ones in the driver) the plan is to use the head on stepdir command for the A axis. My question is essentially that llinuxcnc can read one stepgen both as A (index) and as S (full rpm) command at the same time? I know Mach3 can do it.

Yes, mechanically, I'm almost halfway done and I already have the whole plan and a lot of axles that were removed from the factory machines and I'm looking to use them. anyway very good document, thanks a lot!
