..this would help me in practice, to be able to position the knife relative to the workpiece, at a certain angle.

jogging

MDI youtube.com/shorts/PqXwrarzofU
today I installed the longitudinal axis, I have a problem, in long press jogging mode the machine skips, jumping (see screwdriver) no matter what the feed is, in MDI mode for example g1 z200 f1500 works smooth. I tried changing the acceleration, from 100-1000, at 100 (joint following error) between 100-1000 there is no error, but there is no difference either. Anyone with an idea what it could be?

Epoxy granite is perfect material but aluminum is not for this application.
All the machine mechanically is wrong except if you want something
that is more hobby toy-educational and not for real heavy work.
Best material for cnc is epoxy granite second best natural granite third cast iron
aluminum and steel are not good choice.
headstock is more weak than 500$ hobby Chinese lathes
Remove all aluminum and use epoxy granite-cast iron for headstock.
slant bed is best for cnc lathe not flat.

I completely agree, casting iron absorbs vibrations the best...unfortunately, I don't have the conditions for it, nor does anyone in my area. I would be the happiest if I found some locatelli, for example, for a retrofit. by the way, what I am making is not for a hobby, but it is also not for metal or any such precise processing, I need it for some smaller series of some smaller wooden pieces. I will mainly use the headstock as an A axis, and as a spindle only at the end of the operation, for cutting pieces. In what sense do you think the headstock is not suitable? the shaft is fi 60mm with two bearings, with a 30mm adapter on the MT3.

if it is not for metal but for wood then its ok
for metal needs very strong headstock bed support etc
