Stepper wires need to be 4 core shielded or you will guarantee countless hours chasing random issues
Don't forget to order the pins for those connectors. They are designed to be crimped and the tool is expensive.
You can also look at the Weipu SP-21 (12 pin) plugs and sockets. They come in sets.
I would get some 9 core shielded cable and use it for your sensor wiring etc and the CPC interconnect cable.
Cat 5/6 is not that robust.

Shielded motor wires is probably good practice.
Having said that I don't have shielded cables on any of my machines.

I made my CPC connecter cable from parts from Mouser here in the States. I used 22 Gauge 6 wire, 3 individually insulated pairs with overall insulation around the 3 insulated pairs. Probably unnecessary, but it's what I had on hand.

The pins are are designed to be crimped, but I soldered mine and squeezed the open end around the insulation a bit. That works perfectly fine, arguably a soldered connection is always better than a mechanical one.

Saved a bundle the CPC cord from Hypertherm is a bit pricey.

Currently I am Wiring up the control box.

I just upgraded to Linuxcnc 2.9 and use Qtplasmac.
Seems things are much more simple compared to Plasmac.

But no I am a bit confused.
So I updated firmware for the Mesa board 6i76e
Now how do I get The Thcad working?
I run the pncconfig. There are two firmwares I can choose from. 7i76e and one For 7i76e_7i76x1_Dpl
Which is the right one?

Or do I still have to manually edit some hal files?

It probably doesn't matter if you are just running the 7i76E with nothing on the expansion ports.

Or do I still have to manually edit some hal files?

You might have to, but see how close you can get with the GUI configurator.

Thanks
The Configurator did make a hal file with entries for the thcad.

Is there I way that i can make the thcad show the voltage without connecting a plasma cutter?

Voltage is shown all the time, 0V if everything is set up properly when the torch is off.
If you have a THCAD5 or THCAD10, use a battery of 1.5 or 3 or 3,7 or 9V, it will show on screen but the value will be /scale.

Thanks for the info.

If I connect a 1.5 volt battery i can see the Led on the Thcad blinks faster.
But on Qtplasmac it always shows Zero

I Attached the hal file that was generated by the Configurator.
