u must use sudo to copy these to the folder , without them pncconf cannot work
sudo cp *.xml /lib/firmware/hm2/5i25

Here is the sequence I used:
launch pncconf
press start
press forward
press forward
press forward
select 5i25-Internal-Data
select 7i77x2 with one 7I77
press accept component changes
(SS0 and SS1 tabs appear with TB 5, 7,8 options available)
(I have _NO_ xml files on my system, they are not needed if you choose the 5i25-Internal-Data option)

@cncbasher .... with or without folder 5i25 with only .xml file ... the same result.

you would be better to upgrade linuxcnc to latest to obtain changes to pncconf
etc , amongst others

@cncbasher I see your image only with the old release of linuxcnc 4 days ago (linuxcnc 2.6.3) ..... now with a fresh install of ubuntu 10.04 (from linuxcnc repo ... with old linuxcnc 2.5) and wit the upgrade version of linuxcnc 2.7 .. I never see it.
in my motherboard (asrock ad2550B mini-itx) ubuntu 10.04 have a good result with latency test ..... with wheezy a real bad,so yesterday I make a fresh install of ubuntu 10.04 + linuxcnc 2.5 from linuxcnc forum repo.... than I update to 2.6 and I update another time to 2.7.
AT LAST WE CAN THINK THAT 5I25 + 7I77 + UBUNTU 10.04 + LINUXCNC 2.7 + PNCCONFIG NOT WORK AT ALL...IS RIGHT?
i try to install wheezy for curiosity but not fo usage. you can suggest other similar board?

Not sure what is happening but it seems you are not getting the most up-to-date pncconf.
Even saying that I can't get that failure on 2.7.0 and can't see a bug fix in 2.6 that would cover that.
How are you getting linuxcnc? is it off the cd? do you upgrade it ? or are you using a RIP version/
Very weird
I might say if you install wheezy / 2.7 for a test - go ahead and make you config...it will work for 10.04 / 2.7 also

try the latest version of iso (2.7) , as your using Mesa their is no real need to , to take all notice of latency , this is just a test of many , take performance of the machine first
and perhaps use rt-preempt .
all configs will work across all versions from 2.6 onwards .
