A Widescreen Blender-Style Interface

Hi Grotius,
To clarify, I had chosen to emulate/copy the general style and colors a program called Blender 3D because it deals well with densely packed controls, and is fairly nice looking. There are strong influences from several other interfaces including Gmoccapy, Axis, Hazzy, Touchy, and even a bit of Craftsman.

Hi Brenda,

Maybe a stupid question.
Do you need to write python code behind the buttons? If you want to modify Gmoccapy, it's a long way to the top.
Are there download's available or github version's for linuxcnc at the moment?

Grotius - This is a machine screen design only - it's non functional

Brenda.
When I mentioned the gcode editor problem, I meant on the run screen - should have said gcode display I suppose - It's too narrow to see all the gcode

Hi Chris,

When i look at the website of Blender. I see you can do a lot of scripting in Python code.
cgmasters.net/wp-content/uploads/2017/04/python_tutorial.jpg

So why is it at this moment a non functional screen design? It can have it's own python code.

I ask this only for information because i am curious about the benefits related to the orginal screens we made.
What i think is that this blender software can do more different things then glade.

Chris M, well the communication miss was probably a good thing, the editor should probably be wider anyway : )

A button can be used to expand the Run menu like this.
The menu can even go over the jog controls, but not over the Persistent Machine specific controls, or the immutable Estop controls.

(The Large Log expansion button would need to be grayed out.)

because IFAIK it's just an image. I'm not even sure what it was made with.
Brenda said it's built in the blender _style_ not that it was made in blender.

It seems to me Brenda is doing the design and will rely on others for implication.

I am drawing the interface out in Inkscape because it's open and free, using open fonts.

Yes, it is my hope that others might program the interface after I present the proposal, but hope is the only plan I have right now.
I just want to contribute something to the LinuxCNC community.
