Did it the "wrong" way and edited grub.cfg and did not do update-grub. Everything is now running OK as it looks and I can't replicate earlier freeze conditions. The result should be the same, right?

You can do this but it will eventually bite you as some other operations run update-grub

Those FREEZE situations comes even now without any graphics intense loaded.

I use a Gigabyte Brix J1900 and have also used a Brix N3160 with my 7i76e. Just pull the wifi card out of it so you are never tempted to get it going.

Also the ISOLCPU's is very much a red herring in my experience as PCW has stated. Don't even think about configuring it.

I did do a lot of tests disabling the BIOS settings before deciding on the best config to use.

Hi Rod,

Yes I have one up and running in my mill, works just fine. will get my order delivered next Monday (my birthday ;) ) so then I will have new toy to play with. Will clone the HDD I have so it will be up and running in no-time.
