Bengt, doesn't this mean that it selected something else than the deb package you asked for?
Perhaps you should have used "apt deb"?
bengt@CNC3000 ~/Hämtningar/mint-cnc $ sudo apt install ./linuxcnc-uspace_2.7.14_amd64.deb
Läser paketlistor… Färdig
Bygger beroendeträd
Läser tillståndsinformation… Färdig
Observera, väljer "linuxcnc-uspace" istället för "./linuxcnc-uspace_2.7.14_amd64.deb"

OK Guys = it is over and out with this NUC !

Been running LCNC for a while and closed down to start latency-histogram.
It starts but as soon as I start adding GLX Gears it freezes totally !

Will edit grub.cfg and have following and run tests again
isolcpus=2,3 intel_idle.max_cstate=1 i915.enable_rc6=0 i915.enable_dc=0

But if it fails it is all over for this NUC.

I think the compiling error is related to ndiswrapper, not an issue unles you are using that. The firmware issue I searched and that seems to be something that is not an issue.

Is there a bios setting to change the amount of graphics ram ?

The machine I built the packages on uses the i915 graphics as well and I didn't have any issues.

Will have a look around in BIOS later. Just trying to beat the hell out this now and see if I can get it to freeze again.

So far so good with the new grub settings.

See if there is an option to turn DVMT

Dynamic Video Memory Technology.

I found a page with some info on the i915 gpu

wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/intel_graphics

This section looks interesting

These settings I can find,

Power setting is OFF

So maybe raise the Aperature size from 256 to 512

Maybe changing the Minimum memory as well.

The arch linux wiki has a whole heap of things you can do relating to graphics hangs as well.
