Yes after installing Linux Mint you build the RT Preempt kernel then you add LinuxCNC and if your using a Mesa Ethernet card there are instructions to setup the NIC for that.

I followed your instructions and the kernel was build without any errors.
but it dose not boot in to it
if I select the recovery option in grub menu it hangs included a photo of it
I tried to do a fresh install again and same result
what is going wrong here?
the computer got core duo 2 processor and runs 64 mint 19

New linux user and am just about to try putting Linux CNC on Mint 19.1.
Am watching this thread with great interest, thanks guys.

Last Poster You may use a Standard installation DVD
this woudt give you a better installation EASIER way to get into the System

I'm no expert at PC's but I think a core duo 2 is a bit old for modern OS's using 64 bit.

I don't understand your question, hostmot2 is part of LinuxCNC. The instructions cover installing or building the Rt Preempt kernel, installing or building LinuxCNC and setting up the PC to use Mesa Ethernet cards. PCI and PCIe cards work after installing LinuxCNC.
