So..

Now I have Debian10 working on the lathe Gigabyte -1900 working as regards LCNC.

Touch is not working yet so now trial and error is the way to go.

It is a eGalaxy /USB touch screen. sold as separate screen + USB adapter.

When I first set up an eGalaxy touchscreen I needed to install drivers.

I thought that this was no longer required with the newer kernels.

But additional drivers do exist: www.eeti.com/drivers_Linux.html

Took up a Touch screen from my mill that is easier to disconnect and found this :(



Seems that the screen is damaged probably due to low temperatures, who to blame MrMurphy

Was it still cold?

I regularly chill laptop screens down to -30C and have never seen any permanent damage.

No, took it up last evening and let get room temp before I powered up.

The temp never goes lower than 3-5°C in the shop.
The monitor an old LCD from Philips 170B4 so that might explain why ;)

I would say moisture, but it is past that, that is water ingress.
Still looks salvageable just dry it properly for at least 2 to 3 hours at 60-65 degress C.

Decided not to risk the Touch foil.

Trying to get this driver to work as the other EETI I can not get to work.
The Touch driver install gives me the creeps, why does it have to so bloody difficult?
