Category: HAL

Note, you can get a better idea of sserial channel --> 7I77 assignments with:

mesaflash --device 7i96s --addr 10.10.10.10 --dbname3 7i77 --readhmid

Homing an axis moves away from home switch!

Category: StepConf Wizard

I have a separate home switch for each axis.

Each home switch has its own wire leading to the beakout board.

Each home switch is also the minumum limit switch.

I also have maximum limit switches that are all wired in parallel.

Error problem hm2 7i96s 7i77 analogout scalemax not found ?

Category: HAL

This error appeared when I took the data generated by PNCConf to try to include part of it in the programming code of the machine that I am already developing. But while I was waiting for your answer, I had the idea of creating a new file through the basic PNCConf and gradually including the code of the machine under development. In this code, it is accepting the "analogout scalemax". I will leave it attached in case anyone needs a basic initial code for 7i96s with 7i77. I will try this method. Thank you for your attention, Mr. PCW.

How to call a python script in gcode

Category: General LinuxCNC Questions

I want to create a python script that generates 12 non-repeating random numbers every time the gcode file is run and then stores these numbers in variables that can be used in the rest of the gcode.
It is also necessary to save the values of these variables in a file and to be able to see them in the graphical interface to avoid creating a string of duplicate numbers.

7I96S With RS485 Servo Drivers

Category: Driver Boards

Hey! I'm working to convert my mill from Mach3 and open loop steppers to LinuxCNC and AC Servo motors.

I would like to use the Mesa 7I96S card along with these motors and drivers.

www.omc-stepperonline.com/a6-series-1000...67-a6-rs1000h2a1-m17

From the Mesa manual, it looks like it should be possible to use these stepper drivers, but I wonder if someone could confirm that they will work together. There doesn't seem to be a ton of information about wiring the 7I96S. I mostly see examples where Step +/- and Dir +/- are used. However, that does not seem to be as common with modern servo motor drivers. Would a different card be easier to find documentation for?

LCNC 2.10 - Ask for AUTOMATIC_G43

Category: Gmoccapy

Not every user used to the old behavior that switches to 2.10 is going to use the update script. The point is that EVERY user that starts Gmoccapy the first time in 2.10 gets the notice.

The popup needs a checkbox with "do not show again" and after clicking the message ist gone for ever.

Sounds good to me. The state of whether to show the message or not would be stored in the .pref file I suppose.
However I don't have the time to figure out the popup with the checkbox right now so if somebody knows how to do that then please go ahead.

thanks
