Help me setting up My LinuxCNC

You must identify how the EStop is exposed by the MPG. There is nothing about EStop in the mpg.hal file above. You may have to consult the MPG manual. It may be exposed as a signal you can add to the mpg.hal file, or it may only be exposed as two or four wires (which you must wire as a hardware-EStop.)

Your .hal file also does not have any entries for EStop. You'll need to use the .hal command 'net' to link it. How the 'net' command works: linuxcnc.org/docs/2.5/html/hal/basic_hal...#_net_a_id_sub_net_a

Once you figure out how your EStop button works, it would be best to find a similar setup: duckduckgo.com/?q=linuxcnc+estop+net

No beta, might have bugs.
Are you using the same power supply for all those boards?
If yes, change the power supply.

Thank you for your quick response!

Prime x370x-pro motherboard has bios version 6042 and we can update it to next week. At the moment we have another (newer) motherboard
to test with. Asrock Phantom Gaming 4 B550M and it have bios version 3.40 [2024/1/23] (latest stable version) and with this setup we still have
reboot issue with Lathe software. Should we go with beta 3.41 (Update AMD AM4 AGESA Combo V2 PI 1.2.0.C)?

File path is defined in this line in the python code of the user component above:
file_path = 'file.txt'

eg change to:
file_path = '/home/<user_name>/<your_path>/<your_file>'

Tonight, I thought by myself - maybe it's a stroke of fate, that just one connection in time  is working correctly. I would never surf the internet while running my router. In real operation, I will need internet just for updates, research, nothing really worth. BUt technically, I think that should work, and in your simulation it ran free of problems. So, I would go on...
Thanks for your time!

For x86 computers with parallel ports, you can connect the spindle encoder to the parallel port. I have a pcie to dual parallel port card that can provide 34 io

Orange Pi 5 Plus has better performance than Raspberry Pi 5, but its ecosystem is not as good as Raspberry Pi. Ethercat is easy to install. You can check it out forum.linuxcnc.org/18-computer/48079-can...-to-run-lcnc?start=0

Update the motherboard BIOS.
5600G has integrated graphic and came out later than 5600X, so most boards will not work properly with it without updating the BIOS.

LinuxCNC-RIO - RealtimeIO for LinuxCNC based on FPGA (ICE40 / ECP5)

Category: Computers and Hardware

ahh, I just saw that Mecanix has 'riocore' on the case

maybe you should think again about the naming !?!?!

originally it was called LinuxCNC-RIO, where RIO stands for Realtime-Input-Output.

riocore was only the name for the repostitory, as I had initially separated it into core and gui for the rewrite (because of the dependencies), but this is now all in riocore.

Does anyone have a better name?

EtherCAT i/o board for spindle, estop and mpg

Category: EtherCAT

My servo driver uses ethercat and my io uses rv901 fpga card. They both work well together on Orange Pi 5 Plus.

I have a small retrofitted machine with Ethercat drives and a Rtelligent I/O module. I added an encoder on the spindle but nothing to connect it to. Swapping it put for one of these would solve that problem. I'd also like to try an Ethercat VFD on it too.
