Linuxcnc 2.4.5 with Ubuntu 10.04 , Terminated with Error!

Category: General LinuxCNC Questions

That's a pretty ancient LinuxCNC version, but getting it going as it used to work as a first step makes sense prior to any attempts to update.

The Pico USC is still supported as far as I know.

If you post questions in the driver-boards section there is a fair chance that the manufacturer will see them.

More antennae to collect interference ...
OK for stuff with no big inductive loads, not OK otherwise to use long cables, neither is using more cables.
And mind the wiring loops.

The OP seems to have left the building due to bickering and useless replies, not nice.

Career in LinuxCNC/machine building

Category: Off Topic and Test Posts

I'm interested in what I'm learning and would like to know what career options use this knowledge.  I see some guys mentioning that they've built cnc machines for years - I find that intriguing.

You could see if Tormach want to take you on: tormach.com/careers

I am afraid that I can't advise on how to make a career out of LinuxCNC, every time anyone has offered me money for LinuxCNC I have refused (I already have a real job and a hobby, if I make the hobby into a job then I have no time, and no hobby)

eBay is full of CNC machines with dead controls. Whether there is a market for them in an upgraded-to-linuxcnc form I don't know.

Connecting the wires "far from each other" from the same supply will do nothing.There is no electrical isolation. None whatsoever.

I guess that this means that you need to re-wire the bldc.0.init HAL pin to something other than machine.is-on ?

Possibly to joint.2.homed

Most of the stuff is in Github: github.com/andypugh/LatheMacros
The images are all in the .svg file as different layers.
The fusion 360 models that the SVG files came from might have moved with a change in how Autodesk store data.
The various models are here:

I made the SVG layers by creating a shaded isometric drawing of each component then exporting the drawing to SVG.

vmt. Can confirm that your fixed firmware works for me and that I can compile functional f/w by making the file substitution back to wordpr.vhd.
Cheers.

LinuxCNC-RIO - RealtimeIO for LinuxCNC based on FPGA (ICE40 / ECP5)

Category: Computers and Hardware

yes, the advantage over shiftreg is that the evaluation of e.g. encoders is already carried out on the external fpga and only the finished values are transferred

in der ini die Karte eintragen:
[HMOT]
CARD0=hm2_7i96s.0

dann kannst in der Halshow unter:
Pins
hm1_7196s
die entsprechenden Pinnamen einsehen und ansehen/beobachten

diese kannst du dann in der Hal setzen, z.B.:
# --- Maschine on ---
net machine-is-enabled => [HMOT](CARD0).ssr.00.out-00

# --- SPINDLE-ENABLE ---
net spindle-enable => [HMOT](CARD0).ssr.00.out-01
