Fast Hole EDM from Hacked Parts

PCW,

SSR! That worked! Thank you! Well it worked to the extent that the LED is coming on but has not turned the relay on and I am still reading 0 voltage.  I was looking through the manual, do these pins need there own power supply? If so, does it get input through one of these pins or somewhere else??

Best,
-Dylan

Some new Linux CNC board by Bigtreetech looks cool still trying to get more info

Category: Computers and Hardware

I's suspicious this is the board that Cakeslob mentioned that BTT was interesting in Remora support. STMH7x support is oh so close, just working on a updated DMA SPI logic.

Remora - ethernet NVEM / EC300 / EC500 cnc board

Category: Computers and Hardware

Similarly I've had no success with any purchased CMSIS-DAP probes. I'm still using the STLink converted with the firmware in the repo. I use this for all my debugging work in MCUXpresso.

I've also had good success with PyOCD and a Pico Probe.

What errors does PyOCD give with the converted ST-Link?

To list all mesa hardware pins:

Run LinuxCNC

Then in a a terminal type:

halcmd show all hm2

On a 7I96S the outputs 0..3 are SSRs and the outputs 4,5 are OUTMs

Note that if you created a hal/ini file set with one of the  the GUI configurators,
They "know" the output names:

Fast Hole EDM from Hacked Parts

Category: General LinuxCNC Questions

Aciera,

Okay, I just messed with the machine for over an hour and I am more confused now than at the beginning.  I assume you are trying to get me to find the correct pin using the hal configuration tool.  Well.  I could not find the pin.  The only place that seemed reasonable was under GPIO.  I set all these pins to high using hal configuration.  Nothing I did turned my pump relay on (I was also checking with a multimeter). Btw, I got to hal configuration from the GUI, not from terminal, I assume this wouldn't change anything.. It is frustrating that there is not a document somewhere that shows the names of the pins as LinuxCNC has them named...

I am not surprised that my mcode does not make sense, are you saying that I need to remove "chmod x M101"?

Thank you.

Best,
-Dylan

You might try re-seating the Parallel port card, though it may have failed.

What is "buildroot" ?
-
If you mean building from sources (on github) :
linuxcnc.org/docs/html/code/building-linuxcnc.html

If you mean buildbot:

Has anyone worked with them on this?

Not that i am aware of, nor has it been mentioned here on the forum.
But i do not think i am ordering any, no ethernet.
also, i avoid using "all in one" for production machines as much as humanly possible, but i do use their boards on 3D printers.

Remora - ethernet NVEM / EC300 / EC500 cnc board

Category: Computers and Hardware

Hi Scott,First, I want to thank you for your incredible work on the Remora firmware! Two weeks ago, I received my NVEM V5 board and started working on flashing it. Unfortunately, I couldn't find my STLink dongle (seems like I lost it), and I couldn't wait for a replacement. So, I decided to get creative and used what I had available. I flashed an STM32F103C8T6 using a Raspberry Pi Zero W with the "CMSIS-DAP" firmware you mentioned in one of your YouTube videos, using OpenOCD.As you described in the video, I then uploaded the "stm32f103xb_mimxrt1060_qspi_if.bin" to the mass storage device of the STM32F103C8T6, and it seemed to program itself as expected. I then connected it to my NVEM V5 board and dropped the firmware file onto it, but unfortunately, it didn't work.I spent the next three days troubleshooting but eventually gave up and purchased an STM32-Link, along with two CMSIS-DAP Probes (USB-A and USB-C). I received both of these items recently and tried again, but I’m still having issues. The CMSIS-DAP probes aren’t detected at all, neither by MCUxpresso IDE nor PyOCD. The STM32-Link is recognized by PyOCD, but I still can't get it to work as intended.Do you have any suggestions on where I should focus my efforts next? Any guidance would be greatly appreciated. Thanks again for all your help!

Looks like a hardware error.

Do you have a motherboard parallel port or is it a a plug-in card?
