Known good USB wifi for linux....

Category: General LinuxCNC Questions

Someone here told me to get a now I cannot remember which chipset, but SMC Wireless USB 2.0 Adapter matched it on Amazon. I just plugged it in and now, instead of 24 Kbps, I have 15 Mbps. (My shop is several feet below the router. A refrigerator is also in the path.)

Higher (more than 5V) step/dir voltages with mesa cards (7i96)

Category: General LinuxCNC Questions

Yes. I also think its the easies solution.
Darlington transistors at each driver is way more work.

Thanks for the hint. Will do it with an array.

R denotes the XY rotation angle around the Z axis.

Looks like there has been a discussion about it but it seems to have stalled:

Category: EtherCAT

Have you tried in TwinCAT? Does it work there? If not, the device is faulty.

You can still get ULN2003's in DIP packages
so for three axis only one chip (perhaps in
a socket) on a bit of perfboard would do.

So,when bought the machine i started with the idea of keeping the machine as it was, but after a week  of figuring out how the old system work, it let me do only one job then the motor of the y axis broke and leaved me. So now i was thinking a retrokit to mount on my machine because this  have to work hard and last. So idk i can change all the brain and use linuxcnc and leave 3 motors and buy another one new and with time and money i can change all of them . Or i can buy new motors and i don't touch it ever again(only for maintenance ).
Btw guys do you have  a nice shop were to buy servo motors like the Delta B2 (ship in europe) i saw the motors on Namicam and Motion Control products, seem's good placees idk about the price but seem good pricing . And i need an advice leadshine if it's a good product for professional work . Because they are more cheap than Delta and i found them at really good price.
Thank's for your answers.

Yes, you are right. Didnt thought about darlingtons, but yes, they will be fast enough for this configuration.

So I will have to build a small board in between.

After fooling around for a while, I decided to retain the positive-Z-up configuration. It's basically what modern CNC machines expect, I gather. Also, EasyProbe doesn't work in the positive-Z-down configuration.

I would suggest using something like a ULN2003 as a level shifter

Hehe.
I know some people using cheap chinese probes (round about 60 Euro) with good accuracy. Will try one by myself for the next machine.

So. It doesnt have to be that complex

In fact I will update easyprobe because I will have an ER32 spindle at the machine. So I will add some stuff for users who do not have ATC.

Spindle Speed Settings only from file, no MDI possible?

Category: General LinuxCNC Questions

www.hitachi-iesa.com/sites/default/files...struction_NT325X.pdf Its a WJ200-022SE

Well, I had such an external 10v source before. It worked with both Hitachi and Chinese VFD. The voltage now is correct too, if LCNC gives it out to the Inverter.

What I want to mention again - just my opinion - the error seems to be in Linuxcnc - FWD and Speed signals are not sent out from LCNC just in MDI/Manual mode. My logic says - if the VFD works fine out of a file, what could be a failure in the inverter? I think theres sth wrong in the outputs of LCNC/Probe Basic. Maybe I'm wrong.

In fact, I did look at Easyprobe yesterday, thinking of upgrading to it -- but decided that with the primitive probing hardware I have on hand, there wasn't much point. :-)

The firmware doesn't care about the host CPU
2.9.1 is pretty old (about 1.5 years)

Not sure if 2.9.1 supports PWM dither (V1 PWMgen)
as dither was added in Oct 2023 and 2.9.1 was released
in Nov 2023.

Options:

Update LinuxCNC to current (2.9.4) or use the firmware with V0 PWMgen
