All limit switches on one input

Category: Basic Configuration

Hello,

i make my first steps with linux cnc and i have a problem.
My limit switches are connected in one line to one output on a 7i96s board. In the pncconf i selected the "all referenz" option for the input.
When i start homing in cnc and the switch is reached, all axis are blocked and the machine stops.

I dont know how to set the settings, that all switches are acitvated succcessively.

I hope, that anybody can help me.

Ah ok,

so, playing around with the Camview numbers whhile having 2 webcams connected i guess the following is applicable:

At the moment i have the cameras connected as these devices:

/dev/v4l/by-id/usb-Sonix_Technology_Co.__Ltd._USB_2.0_Camera-video-index0 -> ../../video0
/dev/v4l/by-id/usb-Sonix_Technology_Co.__Ltd._USB_2.0_Camera-video-index1 -> ../../video1
/dev/v4l/by-id/usb-Microsoft_Microsoft®_LifeCam_HD-3000-video-index0 -> ../../video2
/dev/v4l/by-id/usb-Microsoft_Microsoft®_LifeCam_HD-3000-video-index1 -> ../../video3

Camview interpretes this as such:

Camview cam number = 0 <= the first found device in system, /dev/video0 oder video1
Camview cam number = 1 <- /dev/video0 oder video1
Camview cam number = 2 <- /dev/video2 oder video3

if i put in Camvew = 3 which is not available, qtdragon defaults back to number 0 or 1 allthough this doesn't get changed in the .pref file.

Correct?

Well, i guess i could live with that, it would be really cool though if one could give the exact device node in that file. Even cooler would be the option to put in an url to a shared webstream :) But i totally get if this will not be implemented soon.

Best Regards,
-lgitano

Thank You very much!

found that section in qtdragon.pref, i guess that xscale and yscale are the camera offsets to the spindle center, correct?

Does Camview cam number = 1 also accept paths to device nodes or even streaming urls? Right now i just get:
invalid literal for int() with base 10: '/dev/video0'

and after shutting down LinuxCNC the default vale "1" is set again in that section.

Thank You very much!

Best Regards,

Hey there,
I bought a wabeco cc-f1210 a few days ago. It is built in 2001. It comes with a 2kw motor and has the same stepper motor as yours (without labels). The machine is conect to pc. The small device on your pictures is a dongle for the cnc software, in my case PCdreh. The dongle is conect to the parallel port of the computer, the PC is an ATI 486 DX2/V66 and runs on an old Windows (3 or older). In the next days I will have a closer look at it.
Cheers Immanuel

Parse Error

Category: General LinuxCNC Questions

HiI an trying to get setup to use a router on my CNC table. I have it setup for plasma with QTPlasmaC and things are great. Now I want to start doing router work and have set up Axis, smoothed over a few bumps. But I am still getting an error (Parse_FILE_INTERP_ERROR) and cannot find an answer with Google, so here I am.I home the table then move to a location away from home and click on “Touch off” it brings up a menu with 0.0 in the window. I leave it on P0 and click on Ok and then I get the error. I get the same error for each axis. It does not matter if I touch off at the home location, I get the same error there too. This is the procedure I used with other tables and software, and I am just starting with LinuxCNC Axis.If I X out the error message and then can run the G-code I have loaded.

Your toroid power supply is worth keeping. Assuming its 60v AC you can use a AC rated stepper drive. The Lam Technologies DS1076A is one such drive and arguably the best out there,. www.lamtechnologies.com/Product.aspx?lng=EN&idp=DS1076A
In fhe docs, there is an example of using a MPG with a parallel port. Some Mesa cards have dedicated MPG inputs, some need you to give up ome inputs to activate, but you can add additional I/O via a daughter card.

Hello,

I managed to get the pin correctly read in Hal show but I have no idea how to configure it as the knob is both for jog, feed, and manual movements. How would you proceed

Thank you

The English not is my native language and not really understand that sentence.
I'm not a Linux advanced user in terminal and scripts.
So, what does it mean?
1) I'm rotating the screen with Linux graphical UI and after that I have to use the script to rotate the touch.
2) The script rotates the screen and the touch together (both) in one direction. (in this case i need to return the default landscape mode)

hal logic for Tool length sensor and touch probe with Mesa 7i96

Category: General LinuxCNC Questions

If I recall correctly, I need to have both the probe and tool length sensor linked with a or in my hal file to work properly.

I currently have my ground going into "IN COMMON", the probe connected to "IN 8" and the tool length sensor going into "IN 9". The probe and sensor are wired correctly because when triggered, the led on the 7i96 and the probe lights come on.

I believe I need an or going into the probe-in, currently I have:

grep probe *.hal
MillXYZQTDragon.hal:net probe-in     <=  hm2_7i96.0.gpio.008.in
MillXYZQTDragon.hal:#  ---probe signal---
MillXYZQTDragon.hal:net probe-in     =>  motion.probe-input

How do I set the or piece? I think I will need to add it each time I redo my PNCCONF, as it will probably be overwritten. I think I had it working a while back and that is what happened to it.

Thanks in advance
