Mesa sserial cards combination for 3 analog servos + I/O

Category: Driver Boards

You would need an encoder interface as well (7I85,7I85S,7I89)

Might be simpler/cheaper to use a 7I97T

Mesa sserial cards combination for 3 analog servos + I/O

Category: Driver Boards

I'm looking at the Mesa cards available now for driving 3 servos with +/-10V and thinking to go with a 7I94T, one 7I83 for the servo drives and one 7I84U for various I/O like limits and buttons. Since I have not worked with this combination before, I would like your input if this is going to work. Are one of these ready made firmwares going to work, or I will need to create a new one (I have done it more than 10 years ago for creating a custom one for a 5i22, but not sure what I did back then  )

EtherCAT with OMRON R88D-1SN servo drive

Category: EtherCAT

Hello again,
just a little update. On the repository i have added more information about current configuration but still a lot of work need to be done. Unlikely I have only one motor so i can't scale along 3 axes.

I have also updated a video on YouTube.

Next steps are:
  • resolve joint 0 amplifier fault when toggle machine power. This seems to happen only one time after LinuxCNC opening.
  • run and understand LinuxCNC / HAL Latency Test for a better configuration of LinuxCNC
  • set machine configuration parameters like: encoder resolution, velocity, acceleration, pitch of leadscrew...
  • implement PID control
  • customizing using PyVCP

7i97T stepgen outputs dead, encoders & I/O OK - suspect damaged P2 interface

Category: Driver Boards

Thank you for the contact of the Eusurplus store. They responded instantly at any time of day, shipped quickly, and everything arrived quite fast — from Portugal to Bulgaria in just one day! Although people in Bulgaria aren’t the fastest, and local delivery took another three days, that’s a minor thing — plus there were weekends — still much faster than waiting for a shipment from the U.S. I’ve connected everything, and it’s all working now. I got a 7i95 board to replace my 7i97, so I can connect the motors directly in stepper mode. Now all that’s left is fine-tuning the machine’s logic.

MESA 7i76eu – I/O - Spannungsversorgung

Category: Deutsch

The drive manual shows that the alarm output is an optocoupler
This can connect directly to the 7I76UE field inputs

+24V --> ALM+
ALM- --> 7I76EU field input

Ethercat, Canopen over Ethercat Lichuan Cl57E

Category: EtherCAT

Interesting concept, one driver supports 4 motors.

No problem with Canopen over ethercat. It is actually required for the device to use
Canopen over ethercat, CoE with linuxcnc. So all devices use it even the Beckhoffs.
No problem with coexistance.

There is no specific driver for the 57E but since it almost certainly is a cia402 drive there is a general driver to use.
The only a bit unique thing is to figure out the PDOs for motor 2, 3 and 4.
Can be done from the manual or from the drive itself.

Mesa 7i76 should have 4 analog inputs (do check if EU has) that you can use for amplifier fault at 5V, but it will require some HAL editing.
Should be field inputs 0-3

Ethercat, Canopen over Ethercat Lichuan Cl57E

Category: EtherCAT

Hi,
i like to build a new control cabinett for my cnc machine. based on ethercat.
I am currently in the planing stage. I think the Lichuan CL57E are a great fit since from what I can read they can already do prettymuch everything I need. upto 4 closed loop stepper and tons of DIO.
de.aliexpress.com/item/1005009644510600.html
My problem is that it says it is canopen over ethercat. Does that mean other ethercat devices also need to be canopen? Or can I just connect my Beckhoff EK1100 and my servodrive to the same ethercat line?
Are there already drivers for lichuan ethercat devices?
Thanks for your help

RaspberryPi 4/5 Ethercat Rtelligent ECT60 Synchronization error

Category: EtherCAT

I maintained series cabling, switch is just between rpi and first ECT60. Only purpose for switch was isolate Ethernet disconnect to side or other. After adding switch i cant see ethernet disconnect messages in rpi kernel logs any more. I am having RTT60V202 versions.

Hypersening allows you to probe surface so quick its scary, I use Hypersensing to set tool height offsets on my router had to modify the g38s with digita on offs to stop the probing erros i think theorically it is the most accurate method with known physics.

Interesting feedback but may not be relevant here. Any switch or relay introduces hysteresis. Switches have hysteresis from physical travel mechanical relays add delays from contact travel, even digital relays have hysteresis between their on and off voltages eg turn on at 15 volts and off at 5 volts. Hypersening on the other hand uses moving averages and eliminates hysteresis because it is triggered at a voltage threshold you set and turns off as soon as the voltage is trending downwards hence your scary probing times!

Thank you so much, now looks good.
Can someone help me with "setp cia402.X.pos-scale 3600" value?
I've this type of motor with the same encoder: EMMB-ST-87-M-SM (X), EMMB-ST-87-M-SMB (Z1,Z2,Y1,Y2).
Z1, Z2 5mm/rev; X, Y1, Y2 180mm/rev.
