How to compile the RT kernel of a ARM board?

Category: Computers and Hardware

I tried apt install, but nothing changed after the reboot , the kernel is still the same.

And the compiled kernel can't be turned on after being flashed in via a USB cable.

I've returned the board. ARM is an architecture that makes me sad.

I'm having the same problem as well. The system _name values get entered twice. The file change happens on exit, if I've edited my offests or done a tool change.
Using gmoccapy, dark theme. I have a glade vcp panel that handles air/mist/dust collection

I should caveat that the buildbot has been down, I think this change was built before it broke. But I’m sure this is the issue nonetheless.

Converting a 7i76e config to 7c81/7i76 pair

Category: General LinuxCNC Questions

I updated my amd64 from linuxcnc 2.9.0pre to 2.9.2. (same thing I’m running on my rpi4). Then I ran pncconf on the 5i25 config. Interestingly linuxcnc would not run until I commented out the first few “[HMOT](Card0).7i76…” lines.
I’ll try editing the config again with pncconf to be sure it is not just some dumb mistake on my part.

Try turning on the cnc power dummy!!!

From your pictures of the drives I would also recommend you go and look at the correct installation/wiring recommendations in the manual before you damage one of the drives. (Space around the drive, and not daisy chaining the wiring like you have). I get it is a test setup... so might be changed in the future.

Oh my friend, I know how to install servo amplifiers, this is just a test configuration that lies on the bed. Then I will assemble everything as it should be according to all the rules.

It appears you have issues with the lcec_conf module?

I changed the ethercat-conf.xml file, it didn't work

I don't understand why after turning on my servo amplifiers they have a different indication than Marco Reps

they are all determined

Here are the configuration files that are there now

So from memory I made that pause_pin.py modification because qtdragon_hd had no external way to pause the program.

In master at least there now is an external pin for pausing, so you might not need that part.
I see you have a bit for running a oword sub on abort - you'll still need that.

So please confirm you are using current master.
If so you will probably see two external pins qtdragon.external-pause and qtdragon.external-pause-2 is that true?
if so you should not need line 46.
finally you could try commenting out the halui pause/resume lines temparaily.

Seems like you are running a python virtual environment. Not sure that is an issue, but Try after exiting it.

What plasma cutter?
How are you getting an ArcOK signal? From the plasma cutter?

It could be oxidisation of the relay contacts.

The Leadshine DCS810 is a brush-motor servo drive, essentially similar to the MCG servo amp you already have. It ALSO needs a controller, which it is NOT.
What I THINK you are trying to do is create a standalone positioning control for the rotary table. Is that right? Or, do you want to integrate the rotary table into some other CNC system?
If you have some system that produces step/direction pulses, then you need a step to servo drive. Assuming the motor is indeed a brush motor, then the Gecko 320X is likely the best way to go.

What did you change?
Did you change the power socket for any of the equipment?
Did you have any work done in the power distribution panel?
Check for broken ground wires and for nicked wiring on moving parts of the machine.

Just so I'm following correctly with the servo amplifier I would still need a controller such as a DCS810?

Good idea. I actually use a CF Card as a HD on that machine, so it would be really easy to clone it.
