Mint 22 with stock kernel preempt=dynamic works flawlessly with 7i76e

Category: General LinuxCNC Questions

Is that the default mode?
I did test with stock Mint22, but the latency was not ok, and i waguely recall mentioning Dynamic somewhere, but i had no isolcpu in use.
Will have another look later, thank you.
BTW i did install 6.10RT and that works, did not boot with 6.11 or 6.12 at all.

Installing LinuxCNC 2.9 on Raspberry Pi 4B with Preempt-RT kernel

Category: Installing LinuxCNC

A shot from the hip, but usually those drive/steppers will have wrong encoder wiring, would be prudent to double check.

Replied on the other topic in German, so here it is again:
Get a 7i96S, it has less IO, so if you need more get a 7i84 with 32 in and 16 out, can be usually found at www.eusurplus.com and easy to wire together with a cut LAN cable.

Hi,

I use the SUNIX brand. I see them on ebay etc... They have a variety of PCI variants, and single & dual ports.

I hope this helps.

Kind regards
Pedro

14:1 at 60rpm would require the stepper motor (Nema16??? ) to run at 840rpm, and that is usually to much for a stepper (they can be run even at 3500rpm with good drives and high voltage but the torque will be very low), so even if it does run, it will not have any torque left.
Basically, drive is not the limiting factor for rpm, it is the voltage the drive can handle, in this case 24V.
Try it, see if it works for you, if not, tell us exactly what you need.

Remora - ethernet NVEM / EC300 / EC500 cnc board

Category: Computers and Hardware

Hey guys!
Successfully installed firmware, now it's moving :)
Do you have a full config .file, for spindle, inputs, outputs etc. for sample?
Tried to add homing switches, I wrote remora.input.03 but it said unkown pin.
I have dual Y axis, I followed the tutorials but only one motor is moving, if I set sync home sequence it will be OK?

Hi Robh,

I was reviewing the video and saw something was not ok in the output.
Here is a revised video.

It shows clearly the waitcomplete cycle at the abc interpreter.
And shows the internal updated variable list, wich is interesting to evaluate.

readme how it works

Your comments about path offset given a value, is interesting.
To work with multiple tools on the same path, given a offset.

Have to think about how to achieve this.

The idea so far is to use the super imposed interpreter as a front end solution.
Wich now simplyfies the source code drasticly.
Path planning, etc. is then done by the machine controller itself.

Then for a path offset, we could pass a gcode or mcode from the super imposed interpreter to
the machine controllers, telling it to one controller stay behind the tp given a offset.

When working with multiple tools on the same path,  a collision detection in the form of boundary boxes
is no prohibited luxury.

Greetings.

Is there a way to change the acceleration while the program is running? I tried to use m68 to change the acceleration during the program, but the planner ignores the change commands, but when I only run m68 it changes the acceleration as I determine.

Positional compensation for tool side rotation is something that can be done using custom kinematics and there are several sim configs that use it for TCP mode in 5axis machines:
