net plasmac: float-switch <= hm2_7i80.0.gpio.035.in
net plasmac: float-switch => debounce.0.0.in
net plasmac: arc-ok <= hm2_7i80.0.gpio.039.in_not
net plasmac: arc-ok => debounce.0.1.in

why does breakaway turn on?

The best way to isolate the fault is to start by watching the signals in halshow. That will show you what is going on at the hardware pin level and let you make sure they are connected to the pins you think they are.

Actually I think:
Code:
net plasmac: arc-ok => debounce.0.1.in
should be:
Code:
net plasmac:arc-ok => plasmac.arc-ok-in
Plus all the other lines appear to have a space after the : which should not be there.

Cheers, Phill.

thanks Phill and Rod
it was just this: net plasmac: arc-ok => plasmac.arc-ok-in
that I had mistakenly linked to the debounce.
the translator put the spaces but they are fine :-)

So after a few test cuts I discovered a few weird things. First I keep tripping the float switch and I think it’s from moving down to fast. Also the more concerning thing is false starts. I have never ever had this 30XP not start an arc with a trigger pull. But now I’m getting it a ton. Just a hint of blue arc out the tip and an alarm of no arc. I can retry over and over and still the same thing. I can then reach over and pull the trigger and it fires right up. I’m wondering if it’s an artifact of the torch switch being controlled by an opto22. Any tips, I’m thinking of wiring it stright to the relays I have open. It’s like it only gets a trigger on signal for a fraction of a sec and shuts off. Is there a delay somewhere that tells it to wait x time befor tripping with no arc. I’m wondering if the torch is not starting as fast as it wants so it’s tripping out. Thanks guys

On the Config tab:
Setup Speed will slow down all the Z movements except for THC.

Arc Fail Timeout is the time to wait from a torch on signal for a arc-ok
Max Starts is the number of times it will try to start an arc
Retry Delay is the time to wait from a failure to a torch on attempt

I don't know enough about solid state relays, have you tried reversing the connections to it?
Edit: does it do the same with a manual torch pulse from the GUI?

I will be interested with all the numbers you end up with as I will be using a 30XP on my table if/when I ever get back to it...

Cheers, Phill.
