This a RTAI OS version, you need a Preempt-RT OS for Mesa Ethernet cards

Either the Stretch test ISO here:

If you have an older PC get the first one, if you do have a decent PC get the second one.

Its a Pentium D so decidedly old.

Thanks again for all the help. I ignored the note about mesa cards on the download page because at the time a mesa card was not even a thought. It never even stuck around to be a niggling thought during all this troubleshooting.

Get the first one from there, the RT_PREEMPT one, it is Mint with XFCE so it is lighter and up to date.

It will be interesting to see if the newer builds of PREEMPT_RT will be suitable for your older hardware. I had to buy a new PC.
