I started an old configuration with XYZY and fixed pid problem.
It works just fine.
Looks like memory variables error.
Z axis is always #2. in XYYZ config linuxcnc takes variables #2, it is Y axis, and use it as Z axis.
now XYZY, #2 is Z axis, everything works.

What you've experienced is the big change from 2.7 to 2.8 and later 2.9

In V 2.7 axes mappings to joints were hard coded so x=0, y=1, z=2

In 2.8 and on, this is no longer a hard coded relationship and you can wire things up in any order. But the stepgens are still going to need to be allocated int he order they are used 0,1,2,3...)

I think my machine is a YYXZ becasue of earlier decisions with wiring I made.

Same thing really they will be numbered on your 7i77

Yup, they are named analogout0 to 5 on the 7i77.
