qtdragon - probing issues

Ok I updated edge to be 10mm
That image of yours is different to mine
 

It makes no sense for the start point to be the green dot. It has an alignment sight mark which indicates the target we are probing for. You can't be expected to accurately jog to be over the target!

If I start the inside probe where your purple dot is, it works.
If I position near the purple dot for a side probe it works
So the corner images are wrong. They need to be like yours...

If we look at the outside corners (top left),
 
I position  the probe over the purple dot and probe for height.
Then I probe for the corner and it works.

Clearly the purple dot is the start position (except on inside corners where the image is wrong.)

 

Yes I just made the image to help with the discussion.
I am sure if you play with the numbers you can start the probing from almost anywhere, but by design its from the edge.

Maybe basic probe did do it differently and that is why the images are wrong but now versa and basic probe pretty much use the same routines.

I'm sure the edge is used because it's easy to eyeball the start point.
I can not see how starting where the purple dot is works without it doing some weird moves.

Did you try it starting over the green cross hairs like I asked?

Yes I did try the green corner and it works, 

You just need to be somewhere in the ballpark inside the green dot but not on the outside. I think the purple dots should be moved to where you show them just for the 4 inside corner probes so the images are consistent for all probes.


EDIT: Start somewhere between the green dot and the purple dot. Wherever that elusive purple dot is.

I updated some of the button images and the help page for basic probe.

I think that the purple is the wrong shade to represent a ruby

Nah, you just need to calibrate your monitor! I wouldn't wish that update on Chris even if the dots were emerald green!
