Yes, A quick google says to try
Code:
sudo apt-get install yapps2

See howtoinstall.co/en/ubuntu/xenial/yapps2

So onto the next one.

Installing the 2.8 package should auto-install the dependencies.

(and, to back-track, it should be entirely possible to use the latest kins modules from 2.8 in 2.7 as the kins file format hasn't changed)

But 2.8 is definitely where you want to be for non-trivial kins.

@Andy

Not sure what you mean. We are trying to install deweys switchkins branch using his how-to: www.panix.com/~dgarrett/stuff/s_kins_guide.txt
Are you saying there is a shorter way to get the dependencies installed?

Sorry, I am trying to catch up after being distracted for a while.
If you are compiling an experimental branch then you will need the build dependencies.

One less iterative way to get them is:

cd linuxnc-dev
./debian/configure uspace
dpkg-checkbuilddeps

Will list all outstanding build dependencies.
