I used the Schaublin a fair bit in this video...

Spumco. The plan is to get sheet metal lasered for the housing. I really like the solid feel of a welded sheet housing. My time problem is more just a priority issue, that a couple of other projects like the DoAll gearbox suddenly pushed themselves into pole position.

Mark I've got a similar set of servo drives as the shuablin, can you share the drive configuration, I'm a bit confused with the enable scheme, also how did you wire it up ???

I'm using a 7i77

Sorry, I forgot to check in here in the last couple of weeks.
Here is are the pages of my wiring diagram which affect the JMC's.
I have the power sections wired through my PNOZ safety relay, so the outputs are dropped on E-Stop (the second page).
I am using 7i83 and 7i85's so my encoder feedback is on a separate board to the analog outputs I am using. They are both on your 7i77's.

Yay!

Glad the center worked out for you.  I don't have that particular one, but I've got a similar version for my manual lathe and it's been really nice.

And the Schaublin, as you've demonstrated, is a remarkable lathe.

Sorry I didn't cite you for that tip. By the time I made the video, I couldnt remember where the tip came from (Comments, email, etc).I didn't think to check back here.

That seller had the center kit with free shipping. I notice after sending mine, he changed to a postage fee. It is a hell of a deal, beautifully made made part. Thanks for the tip.

The Schaublin really delivers near perfect surface finish and dimensions over a wide range of material, inserts, feeds and speeds. A dream machine.
Cheers,
Mark.

Your enclosure and control layout looks brilliant Mark.

Well done on the button sub-panel.  If you don't like the layout after using it for a while it's not a nightmare to change the arrangement.

Thanks for the great vid!
