7i96s with stepgen indexes 0..4 on P1 HDR pins 1,2,3,4,5
(DB25 pins 1,14,2,15,3)

Finally assembled the electric box and updated the fw.
Now I see the added stepgen index.
Can you write a simple example how to connect the *.hal file signals?
Or just enough to write
net index-x   =>  hm2_7i96s.0.stepgen.00.index-enable   => joint.0.index-enable

Can be the resistor 100 Om to protect the input? I have no 46 Om (or I can connect then in parallel and will got 50 Om)

Any news about

Can you do that for the 7i96 (pwm on 4th stepgen) too? (at home i have this card)

The index (hm2_7i96s.0.stepgen.00.index-enable) not blinks when i touch the GND, or the 5v on the 1 pin
Or will it active only when will run the homing procedure?
Tried the
sets index-enable-x 1
It's lights ON, after I touching the GND it's OFF.
Is it OK?

That's correct, if you set stepgen-index-enable, an index occurrence
will clear it (and clear the stepgen position)

100 Ohms is fine

Hello.
When will you have time to help me out with the bit file for 7i96 (pwm on 4 stepgen) + index for homing

It seems it's working. (loud sound)

Can you help me out with the turret feedback and spindle close-loop?

1) The turret drives a 3 ph 200W AC motor with 2 contactors (CW/CCW with classic-ladder, the algorithm is working).
When the contactor turns ON/OFF, the motor sends some "noise" to the 7i96s inputs (turning on by hands the contactor).
The 7i96s COM is the 24v Power Supply GND and the +24v goes to the Turret common, then they come back to the inputs from reed switch and a "turret closed" switch.
It looks like they needs to add for each input a pull-down resistor. (or may be something else...)
The cables comes out from the turret without any shielding. (24v signals and 3 ph AC 380v comes out parallel...)
(loud sound)

2) The Spindle Close-Loop
There is a simple 3 ph AC motor and inverter. They are connected and turning the Spindle CW/CCW.
The Lathe has 3 speeds. On the first speed when I command to turn 200 rpm (almost 1:1 ratio), it's turning with 275  ±2rpm.
The scaling not correct yet. I will do it soon.
Is it possible to use the Close-Loop to use all speeds automatically, without using any other hal component.
(the lathe config will upload on monday.)

Does whatever drives the contactor coils have arc suppression?
If not, this needs to be added or you will generate 100s of volts
of EMI field when the contactors turn off.

(this is a common situation if CNCing a non CNC machine)

Never worked with a 3 ph contactor.
It's a 3 ph contactor with 24v drive coil + flyback diode added.
The contactor coil on the video is not active (by 24v). I have pressed the contactor with my finger. And it's blinks when I'm turn it ON And it's blinks when I'm turn it OFF. (in the middle of the video you can see the blink - 7-8 sec turn OFF, 9sec turn ON)
How to find that arc suppression device?
Here is how it looks like. The 3 PH goes to the contactor, an then to the thermal relay. (under the inverter - that is all)
