I just installed the 5.10 kernel that Tommy linked on Debian 13 and everything works including the 7i96S.

After doing an update on debian 12 and 13 I see linux-image-6.00-2-rt-amd64 in
synaptic, has anyone tried 6.0 with a Mesa ethernet card?

The 5.10 rt kernel also works fine on Debian 12, running it now with no read errors.

Debian 13? Is that even a thing yet?
So we already know that the debian 5.x kernels work ok on some hardware. So the question is, what's different on your machine compared to the other machines tested here that don't work well with these kernels. Any ideas, given what's been reported about hardware here earlier?

What kernel would that be (according to 'uname -a')? After a quick look through the thread I can only find tommy's link to the 4.19 kernel.I just installed the 5.10 kernel that Tommy linked on Debian 13 and everything works including the 7i96S.

Every PC I currently have up and running 4-5 give me error finishing read on any 5. kernel except 5.10

Linux debian12 5.10.0-18-rt-amd64 #1 SMP PREEMPT_RT Debian 5.10.140-1 (2022-09-02) x86_64 GNU/Linux

packages.debian.org/bullseye/kernel/linu...e-5.10.0-18-rt-amd64
I saw Andy asking about that on the email list. I wonder if the team could get motivated to add that to buildbot?
JT do you reckon you could give them a bit of a push?

The unfortunate thing is that is the standard Bullseye kernel yet we don't have a buildbot install for that version of Debian.Every PC I currently have up and running 4-5 give me error finishing read on any 5. kernel except 5.10

Up unitl now I was quite happy to go with Bookworm but when we see that Bullseye being quoted as the only one that has a kernel that works, really Bullseye needs to be supported.
What small hardware will work? Thats the conundrum.
The Odroid H3 has been reported as working if the Realtek driver is built from the realtek web site.
I've also wondered about the Odroid N2 which is ARCH instead of AMD64 and there is a Debian Bullseye build for it. MAybe the different platform would fix things.
