I have posted the complete config just download the tar file. Then double click on it
Are you aware that you can use halshow to see what is going on. You can also save it so that you can then reload it each time.

Clive are you using the original cylindrical stepper motor for the turret? As opposed to the newer HS200 2221 0210 AX04
If so any idea of it's specs? Especially current rating.
Also when I use your files I get an error
.hal:37 Pin motion.spindle-on does not exist.
Any ideas?

Note that in Version 2.8 the pin motion.spindle-on does not exist anymore.
instead use
spindle.0.on
instead use
spindle.0.on

Yes it is the original motor. It drives the turret fine. But for test I have disabled the paul so that it can run back and forth.
I am not using any of the Boxford stuff including the dc motor ie. just a simple bob and a VFD to drive the 3 phase motor
So just comment out all the spindle stuff..
Did you find the halshow file in the tar. You open that from within the hal configuration

OK I have tried to get the scale correct so that G1A360 F100 does one rev.
So have put the hal back so that the comp is working. I am also running 2.8 mint and sorted out the ini files to accommodate this.
As its been said it tries to go backwards at various tool numbers.
I have done some screen shots from tool 1 to 8 then back to tool 7

One thing I notice is that all moves seem 1.5° short of the actual angles set in the comp. So does this reflect the backward locking?
[edit]
Ok, just noticed that 1.5° is actually not true for all moves. Which I find a bit strange.

Yes I believe so when watching in the halshow moving from T1 to T2 it shows 22.2 then moves back to 20.02 (to lock the changer)
It does that on each move. Apart from when it goes bonkers in reverse.
That's why a temporally have disabled the locking mechanism

So does the unwanted backwards motion always happen on the same moves?
