You should find Plasmac under the sims. It does not get installed for you.

I don’t know where sims is. Sorry I’m not very familiar with any of this.

None of those messages above are related to LinuxCNC, do you have the linuxcnc repository in /etc/apt/sources.list or any of the /etc/apt/sources.list.d/ files

If it is a new installation then you need to setup a PlasmaC config yourself:
linuxcnc.org/docs/2.8/html/plasma/plasma..._installing_linuxcnc
linuxcnc.org/docs/2.8/html/plasma/plasma..._to_the_base_machine

If you want to try a PlasmaC sim then run LinuxCNC and you will get a config selector, PlasmaC is in Sample Configurations >> by_machine >> plasmac

i have Linuxcnc.list and Linuxcnc.list.save. I also have base.list and base.list.save but im not sure if those pertain to linuxcnc.

When i do this command: $ python /usr/share/doc/linuxcnc/examples/sample-configs/by_machine/plasmac/configurator.py

i get this: bash: $: command not found

What are the contents of linuxcnc.list and base.list files?

Could you also post the result of uname -a from a terminal
