I think he got a little confused, it can happen at times.

On another note I have created a new image of Mint & RT that should boot from UEFI without having to change to a so called "Legacy mode". tested on VBox with UEFI enabled in a virtual machine.
Silly me was unaware that Cubic required the installation of syslinux & isolinux to create UEFI images.
Also have moved the readme to the desktop so hopefully it may get read more often. Just waiting from reply from another member about a message regarding "mismatched versions of a particular component". In this thread: forum.linuxcnc.org/9-installing-linuxcnc...ion-usb-not-bootable
No info has been given as where the message appears.

One thing to note is that when the image is created with UEFI support the image can be mounted from within caja, the non UEFI images wont mount unless manually loop mounted.

Unlike other images I posted this has been created using a virgin install of Mint 19.2 on real hardware.
To apply updates to fresh install open a terminal and use the following, this should not upgrade the kernel.
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get dist-upgrade

Iso Image:
No longer available do not ask for access

MD5Sum:
No longer available do not ask for access

Many thanks to all who have downloaded, test, reported bugs and helped.

All issues and support should be directed to this thread.

Like I said before.
This is not an issue with the dvd, this is an issue with your configuration. Please start another thread supplying more information and your hal and ini files. If you keep asking the same question in this thread you will receive no more responses from myself. The is issue is with your configuration, not with the ISO image I produced.
The linux cnc package has been built from linuxcnc git sources, branch 2.8. I do no modify the sources. I do not modify the documentation. I only put everything to together in a convenient package. I have no control over the docs on the linuxcnc site, I have no part in producing any code nor any web pages.

If there is no post announcing a new version of an image there is no new version.
When I produce a new version I make a new post, the post will include the changes made and the download link to the new image. Due to space limitations the old version will be left up for a few days and the new version will move from a "testing" folder to the folder where the previous version was.

To improve these images we need feedback and any issues, if no feed back is given there is no way to know if things are good or bad. It's community effort.

CTR ALT F1 will get you a terminal
The issue is that you do not have permissions to write to the files, the permissions need changing.
All the times I have installed mint I have never had this problem occur, sometimes it does. Causes can be when installing you choose login without password or encrypt home directory.

login with your username & password
sudo chown -R cnccontroller /home/cnccontroller
sudo reboot

If the above instructions fail you can try reinstalling but do not select login without password nor encrypt home directory.
