waiting on knoxmachining to finish the macros as he has a machine to test on. the framework in probe basic is complete if you want to write your own macros. he has had some work keeping him pinned down unfortunately. hopefully he will get some time freed up soon.

you dont actually load the stlinks with remora firmware. stlinks probably need the daplink firmware or something, and then the stlink passes the firmware from the computer to the NVEM

I got the coolant tank cleaned up and mounted the pump again, the old owner did alot of plastic milling so the plastic had clogged up the pump.
 

ok, i can try to remove logic board to see the top.

Test setup for the spindle motor start "Delta, YY" starter, and i painted the motor fan duct. 

Got the mill down from the trailer and moved it inside
 

Doesn't look like there much logic on the power cards, it may be the there are 4 individual
winding drive signals on the cable.

A good picture on the top of the card so you can read the part numbers might help figure
out whats going on.
 

Got the screen mounted today in a old electrical cabinet. I gave it some paint but it will be repainted later. All bottoms are arrive in the next few days. All push bottoms will be square, and a keyboard with touchpad will be on a shelf, on the lower part of the cabinet. 

 

Makes me wonder if this could have been my source of the surface finish issues i was chasing around before? to me it always seemed to be coming from this axis. it's almost looking like a material defect in the shaft material? it's hard to say for sure but i will keep an eye on my finishes to see if that gets better after a motor swap.

the shaft twisted off right behind the bearing. the whole thing came apart in two pieces with the end of the shaft and bearing in the end cap of the motor. no crashes so it seems odd on a 2 Nm motor i would guess it would stall before something this drastic would happen taking a guess.

 

 Leadshine was one of the manufacturers we had in mind and we asked one of the distributors for a quote . They recommended the 130mm flange range but we have no space in the machine to mount these motors so we asked them for a quote for the 100mm flange and they said that these servos are not that good and that in May they are releasing a new improved version .
Meanwhile i found this italian company called MotorPowerCompany which would have the fitting servos for our machine .Anyone has or had any experince with them?

there is translation file in Slovak for qtplasmac.
I had to get somewhat creative, because some words are waay longer than fitting words in slovak language.
Any feedback welcomed.

Thanks filling in my knowledge gap for what Nema is (and yes then it's Nema17).
This small thing is more for me to understand the build and functions in general, not so much as in really doing stuff (maybe some engraving and PCB, which is more engraving than milling, I guess).
That includes to have a setup similar to what I aim for for the bigger router. That's why I tend to spend a bit more money and do a bit of "overkill" for the little toy machine, but can test the basic working for the relevant things.
So I'd still like some more concrete hints for what might be the right stuff to buy controller wise.
The 7192 seems to be the least costly ethernet connected mesa board. Do I use that an kook up 3 of the TB6600 boards to the parport and start experimenting?
(and a power supply obviously)
