There is also a bug with XHC-HB04 with ferror i had set it to feed-spindle override
and show me ferror to Z axis when rotated quick the encoder wheel.

Probe Basic Documentation and Installation... Start Here!!!

Category: QtPyVCP

I was wondering if there was anywhere that would compare the hal files before and after the modifications? It gets confusing as I am not sure if things need to be only added to sections or totally replaced altogether.
I followed up to that point, but now I am kind of stuck.

Thanks

Been spending the last day or so in an attempt to configure the external E-stop. I found this - www.forum.linuxcnc.org/18-computer/44828...rd?start=2080#324903 - and tried to place that into my .hal file (the basic stock one that is in the repo - github.com/scottalford75/Remora-RT1052-c...sic/remora-ec500.hal) like I was able to do for the limit switches and got several already active errors. Commenting those offending lines out allowed the gui to run but no working E-stop. I looked here - remora-docs.readthedocs.io/en/latest/software/hal-examples.html - and there is no mention of E-stop.

I am thinking that the E-stop needs to be set up in some manner similar to the limit switches like this -
#pin IN03
net both-x remora.input.06 => joint.0.home-sw-in joint.0.pos-lim-sw-in
but the best I can guess at is something like -
[code]#pin IN01
net e-stop remora.input.04 => joint.(?).(????)
With the question marks noting what I don't have a clue about and am not finding any clue as to what needs to be there. Am I on the right track or completely running down the wrong rabbit hole. Are there any "good" examples anywhere that might lead me to success?

Beginner Building a CNC - Questions About EtherCAT with Delta A2 and In

Category: General LinuxCNC Questions

i asked ChatGPT about the boards, and it said I should use the 7i76e for axis control, the 7i85 for secondary axes, and the 7i89 for encoders.
Is this configuration correct?I also want to add some information about the servo motors I'm planning to buy.
I don't fully understand all the technical details, but if there is anything wrong or incompatible, I would really appreciate it if you could let me know.
Thank you!

Beginner Building a CNC - Questions About EtherCAT with Delta A2 and In

Category: General LinuxCNC Questions

Thank you very much for your detailed and informative response. After considering the complexity and high cost of EtherCAT, I have decided not to pursue that route. Fortunately, I have also found a way to purchase hardware from abroad. There is a platform where international travelers can register and, for a fee, purchase and deliver requested items. While this service is slightly more expensive, I believe it is worth it. At this stage, I am planning to build a 5-axis CNC machine with an automatic tool changer. I would greatly appreciate it if you could recommend a suitable Mesa board setup for this application. Here are my key requirements: Full Ethernet-based control (no PCI required) Toll changer  Support for 5 axes with servo motors In the future, I would like to add linear scales (linear encoders) for closed-loop feedback  Unfortunately, I am not very familiar with the Mesa product lineup, so a specific recommendation or example configuration would be very helpful. Thank you in advance for your support.

I have recreated the problem with the function generator. Now I am sure the problem lies in the configuration, or so I believe. For now, I would like to know which parameters I need to set to have the same parameters for frequency and pulse times in the hal and ini files (like pulse 1,000,000ns frequency 988Hz). Thank you again for your patience!

Ok, thank you, as you can tell, I’m not very versed on Linux. I will be at my shop soon to upload any pictures. I am putting 32 cross cut grooves into the handle of a wood baseball bat. I’ve already tested it and it takes the shock out of your hands. I have the patent and I have MLB guys waiting to try the bats so there is a lot weighing on me to get this done so I appreciate you. Cooper Groove is my company, my shop is in Joliet , IL, just outside of Chicago

Change Tool Offsets after editing the Tool Table

Category: Gmoccapy

I'm pretty sure you must issue a G43 command to reload and make the tool offset after changing the offset in the tool table.

I believe the "Apply" merely saves changes you've made so that Linuxcnc is aware of the change, but the new offset isn't actually put into effect until either a new G43 command is issued to actually apply the new offset, or the tool is changed while G43 is in effect. (At which point the new offset is loaded automatically).

Personally I feel that G43 should not be automatically applied with a tool change. I don't think most other cnc controls do this, and it leads to poor g-coding practices. (My opinion is that always explicitly issuing G43 Hn to set your tool offset after tool changes or an offset change is best G-coding practice.)

I tested the driver with the function generator and managed to reliably reproduce the problem. From the video, we can see the frequency and the ns coming from nvem. Therefore, I would like to understand how I can change these ns in the ini file and hal. Thank you for your help.

Planning to Retrofit a Mazak Integrex200Y Mill-Turn Machine

Category: Advanced Configuration

Hello,
so after some digging around i found the Doosan G Code explanation sheet. I uploaded it into my GitHub so everybody can access it. It was a pain in the **** to get it.

github.com/jochenr91/Integrex

It explains every G-code the machine accepts. Including G400 starting on Page 155 (Page 157 with example pictures).

Also interessting: The Doosan Machine exepts G68:

Three-dimensional coordinate conversion without B-axis rotating (G68.1/G69.1)
Three-dimensional coordinate conversion with B-axis rotating (G368/G369)

The question is how to implement it into the PP or replace G400 in the PP. I get the benefits of using G400. But i don't need this functionality, at least to get things running. On the long run of course it would be quite nice, cause this is one of the huge benefits of a mill turn. Since this G code works with the tool offsets automatically it should be used by the motion planner?!

But yes the touch off should be at  B0.

I'm almost certain that the problem with the stepper's jerky movement that I'm having is the ENABLE pin not connected. I tried connecting it to +com with no success. I would like to try connecting it to a GND but I'm afraid of causing damage. Does anyone know where I can connect it to ground without causing damage?
