Nice Project! Was your Retrofit successful?
I also have the same Knuth Mark Super Cnc. And the Gplus 450 make problems.
Can you give a short summary of your Retrofit, what you change and how? Maybe pictures too? That would be very helpful .

Maybe it's useful info ...
i had to power the RPI5 using a normal 5V/10A DIN power supply. Manage to do it and keep 4.7V at 3.1 A , enough for RPI to avoid detection of an undervoltage condition.
But then I was curios about the official RPI power supply ... and I have tested it with an electronic load: I've got the same voltage ( around 5.14V) from 0.5A up to 5.9 A .. at 6A it shuts itself down nice and safely ).
I think the official power supply is dinamically compensating the cable impedance by increasing the output voltage from the regulator based on measured current .
So if you need 5A , be very careful with the cable or just use the official power  supply , if possible ...
All of these where done with PD disabled ( a small USB-C breakout board with 5.11kohm on CC lines)

This error arrives even without python script.
So, there is no relation of this error with python script. Still needed I will post the script later.

For the spi rt patch I'll see if I'm able to do something. For sure it won't be as complete as the "original" patch but maybe it'll be good enough.
Have you already been able to use the spidev driver at all?
 

Sorry for late response. Yes I've used spidev in orangepi 5 plus before but I always enountered with watchdog errors.

99 is my probe. 42 another tool that I am switching to. The probe is still in the collet at that point. My code has the tool change at the beginning of the task. So I would think that is correct.

Please post the python script and the complete debug information.

Hello!!
After receiving this error we are not able to import linuxcnc python module and from python script we are only controlling the motion of machine.
While program execution is running at that time in python script we are just reading machine status and getting current execution line number nothing else.

This problem arrives only when program run time is long.

Remora supports the latest RT1052 based boards (NVEM / EC300 / EC500) as well the older STM32 NVEM board.

The STM32 NVEM firmware has not been updated to use the remora-eth-3.0 component. Please use the remova-nv component in

Hi Peter.

I have an existing 5i24 which is working fine.
I bought a backup 6i24 for redundancy a number of months ago, but have not used it as yet.
Today I was going to flash the 6i24 with the 5i24 bin file. Jumpers are configured to mimic the 5i24 board.
So I took the 5i24 out and put the 6i24 into the single lane PCIe slot.
Problem is that the computer goes through the BIOS flash, but then hangs on boot.
I have tried various other PCIe slots on the motherboard (single and multi lane) without success.
When I put the 6i24 board in I see LED's light up briefly, then immediately extinguish.
I put the 5i24 back in and the computer boots fully, and --readhmid reports correctly.
It is almost as if the computer thinks the 6i24 is a GPU and hangs there on boot because it isn't.
There are no BIOS settings to force the computer to ignore a GPU or to force it to use on-board graphics...
Peter, have you struck anything like this before, and do you have any suggestions?

I did a little bit of searching on that , am I correct that the wizard will pick up the firmware that is already on the card , then work with that pinout for setting up the rest ? If so then that'll save me a lot of time .

I just installed on vmware last night to see whats new and see how much work I'll have to cross them machines over . I'll get it installed on a pc so that I can dig more into it and do it properly

Progress, turned off secure boot and now LinuxCNC runs the demo.
I get one other error, "No parport registered at 0x378.  This is not always an error."
Computer has an aftermarket pci serial and parallel port card.
What's up with that?
