Anther sheet cut by PlasmaC,

Dont let anyone tell you that 16mm sheet does not need THC, On these longer cuts THC works very well,

I have just pushed an update:

1. Move ohmic probe enable to the Run tab/panel

2. Add Fusion 360 conversion and ability to manually build a material file using materialverter (that really is a horrible name)

3. Fix embedded tab error in Axis

Just updated my config, Ohmic disable is working well.

When I first tried to update I did not read the message properly and it said that the git pull had been aborted.

I looked into it and it did not want to override my local changes, I had to make some changes to the python files because when my CandCNC controller failed something must of happened to my arc OK relay on the plasma unit. I have to use the softwares soft arc ok setting.

With my big machine I had to set the high voltage limit to 250 from 200, It took me a while to figure out but when I made the changes it has not failed.

Thanks for the report.

Actually it would be good if any guys who are using the soft arc ok (Mode 0) could let me know their OK High Volts and OK Low Volts and I could put something in the docs as a starting point for new installs.
Edit: Machine type would be good as well.

I like the pics of yesterdays sheet, I must say the 16mm sheet distorted more than I thought it would.

Yeah I was surprised when I first cut that thickness with reading on the forums how anything over 12mm does not need THC to cut.

Ive got a sheet of 20mm to cut tomorrow which usually stays flat but ill see how it goes.

Stefan,

I see your picture of all the strips. I tested this tonight on the free dxfdecoder cam program, wich is in progress, not fertig...
Do you work with G40, G41 and G42 offset's at the moment?

Grotius,

I really have no idea with the G-code, I use Sheetcam for the NGC file generation.

I am using a post processor that John posted and I modified the Sheetcam rules to suit PlasmaC THC on and off code.

I have attached the NGC file of that sheet to this post.

Stefan.

Thanks for that. With this info i can make a matching PlasmaC gcode output. I will work on that.

M3 S69
G1 Y208.926
M62 P2 (DTHC OFF) (On small circles)
G2 I0.000 J11.000
M63 P2 (DTHC ON) (On small circles)
X26.211 Y209.645 I0.000 J11.000
M5

I expected z value's. But Phill is so smart to do the torch height control only with M3 and M5. I do it the same way in other
component.
There is no "z" character in the whole ngc file. B)

I prefer to use the tool kerf offset's in the future. I will work on that.

For the rest i mentioned that the DxfDecoder does the job with one button press.
Then you can reload the axis gui with Control-R.

Sheetcam is a very good program. For new users it would be nice to start with a free program coming time.
It saves them money. They could donate to the forum. But the forum is not Php..... :woohoo:

One thing to mention for your post processor : P0.254 could be better P0.01

Just curious, Do you plan to release that program open source? If not would it be available for a small fee? I am looking at building some tables to compete with Swift Cut and PlasmaCAM here in Australia and such a program would be very handy to offer to customers.

@Stefan,

The program is free to use for linux users.
We will not compile for Window's or Mac...

It's my job to give something back to linux. This is my way...
If you look at Linux Torvalds or Sasha or more of them. I can not stay behind.

If not would it be available for a small fee?
That is not my purpose.

Did you think about building the Grotius plasma design? Maybe you can use this design in your country...

Even Catterpillar uses a Grotius machine to cut some steel with 200 amp's.
Do you have a relationship with Thermal Dynamics already?

One thing, if you are planning to use Mesa. Don't forget to use the extra plug and play connector's to switch out a card in 1 minute.

I tested just some more plates. 12 plates of the same product.

12 plates of 182 products : 2184 product's in one file.
File lines : 113.578

Free download of this software is in other thread. I will stop polluting now.
