At this stage I will get probing working with a single attempt then work on multiple attempts later (user configurable with a spinbox in the config panel???)
Trying to set up the test machine and now I cannot get DNS working...
Nothing is ever easy
Cheers, Phill.

I found sometimes the default route would choose the Mesa NIC instead of the network NIC. I played around with static routes. If you can't ping your gateway that will be the problem but if you can, then Googles DNS servers are your friend (8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4)

Only a single NIC on this machine.
I can ping local machines by address or name.
I can ping external addresses but not names.
Time for a coffee.
Cheers, Phill.

If you an't there yet manual configuration almost always works. Google and manually set ifconfig. Sorry I am not a linux/unix network admin, Debian installs always did the work for me so I only had to manually setup my NIC for the Mesa card.

Should just work hey!
A lot of sites don't respond to pings these days with the advent of AWS and other cloud services.
Try connecting to a site in your browser.
139.130.4.5 is an obscure Telstra server I test pings against. if it responds your browser should work.
You know the mesa card needs to be on its own NIC?
