Valid Arc Lost, Thcad 300 config & Plasmac override

My problem I think the voltage is a bit to high ...at the moment still works only with pulse. as soon as I try run a programm (automatic) it says valid arc lost...

Set the Arc OK High on the Config Panel as high as it will go, that will get you going and you could lower it later but it is probably not necessary.
The Arc OK Low probably needs to be at around half your cutting voltage.

Searching for the connection points for Thcad300 yesterday was stressy.. As well as results..
I found some points measured directly 123V when torch on...
Soldered cables on and measured 500v at the end of the cables.
Experimented with isolated, Grounded isolation one end etc.
At the end the thickness seems to make a difference....and length!
I don't know if I should change the cables again since I am about 165V torch on.. I hope in using thc it should not make a difference except level is a bit shifted.

Are you measuring that while cutting ?
165V is reasonable, as now you are measuring before the inductors and current limiting, so it is normal to have higher readings.
On a Thermal Dynamics plasma the voltage while cutting was 185V when set to 30A, 130V when set at 70A and 120 when set at 90A.

Hello ,
Took signals from here after conductors before arc starting induction.

Thank you Tom the trick with the cheap DVM this is great.!

Dear Phillc54 ,
it did not work...at second and third attempt etc. i don't even get the slightest spark , relais triggers but very very short.
max value is 200Volt.

I tried a single cut .

here pulse test

I even tried with 0 volts min, arc ok, also does not work...

something is as well fishi after sometimes I try the single cut the Z when I try to lower it dives full in the material and I have to hit estop.

this does not happen on pulse test ...strange...
thx

ups.. a bit high ??
again single cut...

I can tomorrow as with Tommylight discussed make again connections before the inductors.

I changed Arc OK High limit to 300 late January. I have just pushed a change with the limit at 9999 so you could update and set your limit to 9999.

Also can you increase the volts/div on the plasmac:arc-voltage-out so we can see what the voltage is.

On that last screenshot you have 27000V !!!
Check the scaling as it seems off.
Are you sure the resistors are wired properly on the THCAD and the burned out lines are replaced with wires ?

That 27000 would be scaled by the Voltage Scale of 0.012042 to be about 325V which I think is still wrong but I cant see the actual result on the plot.
Either way it is going to shut down because it is more than the 200 Arc OK High.
