Well done Stefan, don't forget to show some sample parts.

And I love that OHS approved chain guard... :)

despite the noise of media and parts clanking around i would welcome it over doing hand work on parts without a doubt. hand work is another one of those things you learn to hate as you get older :) the noise is not so bad since your hearing is already half shot in the ass at my stage so it's a win win :)

If I add a chain guard it will take away the excitement of getting caught up in the chain

Next step is to finish the design of the enclosure and the setup for adding and removing parts quickly.

LOL, and wheelbarrow ???
For loading with it, make a ramp on the other side!
:)
BTW, just in case you use this idea, if you even notice any of the workers missing in the shop, check the tumbler!

Noise level was not what I was expecting. I tumbled the parts for about 1 minute inside the shed without ear protection and its not much louder than my guys working.

Not quiet but bearable.

Also was not expecting the parts to be ready after one minute. Ill play around with the next couple of batches and record my results.

Yeah my guys will be happy. Saves chipping the dross off with a chisel. I get nearly 400 of those cleats to a sheet. They all cleaned up so easily. Very Very Happy with the results.

Update:
After some testing I decided that 25 RPM was too fast for the 900mm diameter drum. I have put on a 36 tooth sproket which will limit the top speed to 16 RPM. it also multiples the torque by 1.8 to give 1008Nm at the shaft.

Part tray with removable front gate. The plan is to butt the tray up to the drum and the lip of the tray will sit into the opening. I will then remove the gate and push the parts in. I have not tried it yet as I need another chain link.
