RS485 For Hypertherms was created by phillc54
I am looking at making Pedro's HPMX RS485 component available with PlasmaC.
In the Cut Parameters in the Run Panel we should add some optional parameters:
While doing this should the Torch Off Delay which is currently in the Config Panel be moved to Cut Parameters in the Run Panel.
Edit: What gas pressure range is required?

we here use at the Hypertherm 45 as well as the c-50
a range from 0,4-1,4 BAR // 2,5psi-25psi shoudt be good for me

I think you can query the Hypertherm to attain the available gas pressure range. Do you have the relevant docs Phill? I can find them if you don't.
I kinda think the delay should be a cut setting as different thicknesses would need different delays

Cutting pressure never is under 5 Bar, bigger Hypertherms will not start with anything under 7 bar.
Recommended for small ones 5 to 5.5 bar, most will stop working at 4 bar.
If this is about cutting pressure, PL7i92 please edit the above post.
If it is not, sorry for the mess and i will delete this post.

Just confirming you can query the machine via the RS485 interface to obtain the minimum and allowable pressure so that sets the limits as it could vary from model to model.

I don't want to change the component too much, I am really just looking for sane minimum and maximum to have in the spinbutton. I don't think I will even show the feedback values as there is not much real estate left. It would be nice if we could have conditional GladeVCP panels.

Would anyone happen to have an Arduino sketch that emulates the serial modbus port of a Hypertherm PM XP ???

Phill, also there are Modbus Ascii emulators that run on Windows or Linux. have a google.
Also, I think the pressures are mentioned in the manual for different types of cutting.

I am having trouble communicating with the hpmx component so i was hoping to emulate a PM XP to have a look to see what is happening.
In the Hypertherm docs they mention a CR/LF at the end of transmission from master to slave but when they mention the reply there is no CR/LF. Is this correct?
