From your name (José Fernandes) I suspect that you are Portuguese.
If you are currently located in Portugal I can show you a CNC milling machine that we use for production or a CNC lathe, both running LinuxCNC.

I believe it works well, I have no doubt of it. My current doubts are based on whether I can do this retrofiting. From what I realized until now the retrofiting using MESA 7i77 and linux is a task that goes beyond my capabilities.

Hi
Glad to see you are still here on the Linux CNC forum .
I am interested in what scales your MH300C machine has. Are they Philips or are they Heidenhain scales ?
I am also interested in what servo drives and what spindle drive your machine has.

Do you have a parts manual and the electrical schematics for your MH300C ?

Would it be possible to get photos of your MH300C showing ---- inside the electrical cabinet --- the servo and the spindle drives ----the Z axis scale label / manufacture label and also the transmission shifting motors located on the side of the Z axis ?
My reason for those photos is they can show a lot of information very quickly and exactly what is what.
Bob

-The scales are Philips photoelectric of 11μamp.
-Drives TRK2 ... (...) and TRK6 ... I think that's the name. The drive of the X, Y and Z axes is a single block.
-Yeah, I have all the manuals.
-In my case the Z Axis is changed with the Y. I have Y horizontal and Z vertical.
-Yes, when I have some time I can take some photos. At this moment the time I have is little, my priority is to put Schaublin to work. Today I was asked again if I had any of the machines to work, I have work to do and I am refusing to have the means to do it ...

Are you certain the Phillips scales are 11µA output? Müllernick converted a 700E which also had Phillips scales, and found his had some non-standard output. Ended up replacing them with modern TLL output scales.

Here in Portugal are you located? I am located near Faro, come to see my machines and you will, at once know what you can do or not, what hardware do you need ...

When I started, one of the things that I was looking for was to see someone with a working machine. I think I posted here in the forum this request and someone from Germany said that it was able to show his machine. I did not went, I started with someone else in the company, but I am sure that if I saw something working the task would be easier.
