Sorry if I woke the impression that this forum won't help, as this is a really helpful and experienced group of people. However, I would doubt that anyone here will have any experience with the NewKye, as we are fans of LinuxCNC. I searched CNCzone for Newkye, and there is not much info on there either. There is one guy on Zerspannungsbude.de who also did a retrofit wit one of the chinese controllers (they may be sold under multiple brand names).
I am using the MESA 5i25 + 7i77 plug and go kit ($279) plus an additional 7i84 i/o card ($79) to interface with the MAHO relay panel.

While that NewKye controller may come programmed to interface with NewKye drivers and motors, you are still going to have to implement the E stop chain, hydraulic tool release, home switches, central lubrication system, coolant spindle start/stop direction control etc. MAHO's 24VDC relay panels are rather easy to interface into. How many channels of i/o does the MewKye offer? Is it at 24V or only at logic (VCC) level?
While interfacing new motors to the MAHO is a lot of work, I think a lot of people underestimate just how much cost and work is involved in the near complete rewiring which such a retrofit plan would entail.
The NewKye controller can't close the loop to the existing Maho glass scale encoders can it? The servo's you install could still be closed loop to the motor encoders, but more important than loosing the accuracy of the linear scales, is that you loose the homing to the index marks of the scales. If your Maho is anything like the 400E, there are no separate home switches. Obviously you can add some, but that is another load of work, which is unnessary of you retain as much of the MAHO system as possible. Most "rip everything out and install new" retrofits of MAHO's lead to significantly less capable machines.
How is the spindle speed control of the 300C done? The 400E has an 18 speed gearbox to bring under control. Some models have a 2 speed gearbox plus a VFD.
