Still no luck. I cleaned it up and reinstalled Probe Screen again. Have I missed something?
Now I get an error on startup. I have attached the debug file.

Your attached error file can not be read, it is an openoffice document.
Can you attach the txt file?

Problem from your error log.
I would open the hal file mentioned and comment out the relevant line.
That should allow linuxcnc to run (unless other erorrs)
I would then open halshow and review the pin names. Work out what the correct pin name is, then go back and edit your hal file again to use a valid pin name...

Yes if I comment those lines out in probe_screen.hal it starts.
the pins and pin names look fine in hal show.

I can't help you as I don't use this but maybe post a screen dump of halshow showing the pin names

Is Probe screen able to do Z Touch off on manual tool change? I have looked through the thread and and buttons screen and cannot work out if this is a capability. I currently have Z touch off working based on this implementation 7xcnc.com/software/probing/z-touch-plate/, however it does not appear to be compatable with Probe Screen, as after follwing the Probe screen installation instructions I get an error due to the removal of the Manual Tool change entries in .Hal
Ok, I think I worked that one out, the process involves the "Toolsetter", so does the toolsetter hook up to the same pins as the probe?
It would be so much easier if I could search within a thread.
