forum.linuxcnc.org/9-installing-linuxcnc...-t-f?start=10#111967

That config appears not to have a problem finding the lathe macros, so I think there was a problem with relative paths from the backup config.

However that then does seem to have a worse problem with Gtk after that point.

If you comment-out the line in the INI that loads the lathe macros, then start the main config are things any better?
(I am wondering if an update to Gtk or similar is causing problems)

It is possible that P = 1000 is not correct for a 2mS servo period.

Do you know why your servo period is 2mS?

To be honest I do not remember how this was setup earlier. But it has been running well before this update/upgrade.

These old 5-phase stepperdrivers are not the fastest in the world and I think 'we' (you/Peter/me) came to this setting after examination of the settings I used in Mach3, If I recall step was 5µs and over 10µs on dir.

So what do you suggest me to try next?

This is all that supposedly changed between 2.7.12.and 2/7/13

www.linuxcnc.org/2018/05/09/LinuxCNC-2.7.13/

I suppose you could go back to 2.7.12 to see if the problem goes away?

(In the synaptic package manager select LinuxCNC then go to one of the menu tabs (I have forgotten which) and choose "Force version"

Hmmmm

LinuxCNC 2.7.13 has been released. All users are encouraged to upgrade. This version improves the documentation, fixes some old obscure bugs, and fixes yet another version-skew problem with TCL/Tk newer platforms.

Unfortunately I am without LAN for a week or so as I have to return my faulty Devolo plug set as one part is non functioning.

Will have to consider digging out the PC and bring it up here to do the down grading, if it helps ?

The big question is whether it is worth downgrading just to prove whether the problem is with the LinuxCNC update.

I think you should try with a servo-period of 1000000 as a very quick experiment to see if that helps with the jogs.
