No worries.

I am just building LinuxCNC at the moment after running your build deps script, looking good.

gparted would be nice.

gparted is removed as part of the Mint install process along with the ubiquity stuff and some bits and pieces.

linuxcnc 2.8 builds ok
linuxcnc 2.9 has issues /src/emc/rs274ngc/interp_g7x.cc ( I don't know if this issue has been sorted yet)
This may be fixed by installing gcc-8 and checking the instructions to make gcc-8 the default. As gcc-8 is the default in buster.
askubuntu.com/questions/1028601/install-...only-on-ubuntu-18-04

I started a clean build of kernel packages using the gcc-8 compiler. I needed to do more messing around with the control file fro gcc-7, which I couldn't be bothered with ATM. Tho I may have to do some modding.
But maybe it maybe worth waiting to till the next release of Mint.

Fair enough, It is just me being lazy...

It looks like it has, it just built perfectly. I did a complete build with all documentation.

Yep, probably better off waiting.

The thing I find odd is that Mint 19.2 is supposedly based on buster/sid and they don't even list any rt linux images in the 42 thousand imges they do list.

Having no joy with RTAI kernel, graphics are really sluggish on my T530, glxgears barley runs.

Maybe some hints here?

I sorted it out, having grub boot menu be a text menu only.
It was confusing as it only came up as an issue after being installed on the T530, didn't manifest it self when installed on my Lenovo M90P desktop, running the live cd on the T530 and running as a virtual machine on the T530 did not produce this problem.
Apart from the screen resolution only being 1024x768 the Desktop is smooth and without the feeling of moving through molasses .

Fix is here, simple but took a while to diagnose.

On another Andy you maybe able to help with this one.
I've been working with a commit that sorted an issue with pncconf and another issue that escapes me, thanks to Chris for his quick replies.
Anyways I made some modifications to the debian package build so that the html docs are produced as a separate package. How does one go about merging those changes with 2.8 locally ?
I haven't made any changes to turn this on or off when doing a
debian/configure uspace noauto
.

Many Thanks
Rob
