2.9.3 - Stuck in wrong state and stops

Category: Plasmac

I made a sim from your config and after lots of testing I was unable to replicate the issue.
It should be noted that I did not test pendant, ohmic, or step boost, I commented these out and also replaced my_Plasma.hal with sim_no_stepgen.tcl which is the standard QtPlasmaC sim hal file. I am only able to test in a sim as I have no hardware. If you can replicate it in a sim then could you post the sim and the workflow that causes it.

I did note that in showstopper.ini the relationship between the MAX_VELOCITY and MAX_ACCELERATION settings for the X, Y, and A axes and  their corresponding joints are incorrect.

I've forgotten the exact debugmsg at that time. I obtained the information for this issue from the diagnostic LED provided by the manufacturer. The specific content is: Invalid parameters were written.

Possible retrofit of a Körner Magic550 CNC Machine

Category: CNC Machines

After some extensive googling  and some back and forth with some Servo+drive manufacturers we are still searching for Motors and drives. In the mean time we striped everything of the machine and we found that the installed Servos were smaller than the ones specified in the schematics.
All the servos are the same ,Heidenhain QSY96G which have 1,4Kw and a moment of inertia of 6,3kg*cm2..I have found similar servos but with about 25% less moment of inertia. Does this influence noticeably the acceleration/deceleration ramps ?
Another thing that I found out is that servo motors, annoyingly, don’t use the NEMA sizes .It’s like the potatoes in an organic food store, everyone a different size.
I am gonna put here the specs of the QSY96G servos maybe someone can help me find suitable Drives .
power 1,4Kw
voltage 291V
current 3,3A
torque 3Nm
max current 25A
max torque 22Nm
moment of inertia 6,3kg*cm2
encoder incremental 1Vss

custom button

Qtdragon uses Qt so glade is not so useful, it would require QtDesigner.
There is a button to turn a laser on and off that is included in QtDragon.
The button is on the offsets tab. the pin is qtdragon.btn-laser-on

If that is not what you want there are more options, such as macro buttons.
Customizing the screen layout with extra buttons is not super hard - where would you want the button?

Did you save the file after changing it and restart lcnc after editing the file?

The "set wco rotation" button must be active when the probing routine is started.

They are 2 winding type, that's not in question.
There are 6 connections because unipolar drives need
windings with a center-tap. You would ignore the center tap
when using a bipolar drive (series connection).

Note that when using this series connection you would
lower the drive current (so say 4 A instead of 8A)

Need help setting up XYYZA for stepper motors

Category: General LinuxCNC Questions

That's an odd error as a parallel port in mode "out" should have pin 16

Can you comment out any line that causes an error, launch LinuxCNC
and then in a terminal type:

halcmd show pin parport

and show the results here

Perhaps try this: www.aliexpress.com/item/1005005965707719.html

Also, it's possible the motor is actually 2-winding internally.

Open up the motor wiring box and see.

You might be lucky!

Gmoccapy - spindle restarts at program stop

Category: Gmoccapy

Looks like this might be limited to spindle speed and direction pins not consistently reacting to a program stop as 'spindle.0.on' seems to always clear.

Good catch. I will look at these pins in case it happens again. I had it only a few times when milling PCBs. Other than that it never occurred...
