Ethercat installation from repositories - how to step by step

Category: EtherCAT

the Ethercat code is managed by etherlabmaster not this project.

If you read their docs, this appears to be a buggy implementation on your hardware as it says:

During bus scanning (see section 5.4), the master determines the supported mailbox protocols for each slave. This is done by examining the “Supported Mailbox Protocols” mask field at word address 0x001C of the SII. If bit 1 is set, the slave supports the EoE protocol. In this case, an EoE handler is created for that slave.

Perhaps this flag can be disabled on your drive.

Servo tuning for an axis that behaves different in one direction versus the othe

Category: CNC Machines

I am not sure what I was thinking this morning, it is x-axis (the 120" long one) that is rack and pinion. y-axis and z-axis are ball screw and are working fine. (most of my work these days has been on MSY lathes and now a tube laser ... it seems every machine in my shop has different axis names ... and then I screw up the simplest axis named machined I own)

I am going to take tommylight's suggestion and give the rack and pinion a good cleaning. And look at if there is anything that could be lose / binding elsewhere in that axis.

Thanks

You have the old (G540) package name in your pinout file

While copying the file for pasting I noticed that while I had changed the package name at the start of the file, I had forgotten to change it at the end...

It compiles!! I'll flash it tomorrow
Thank you for all your help!

Hi Behai. I purchased a couple of these cards from the US. I built a CNC around this card and a raspberry pi five. If you want to chat about it, I’m at the top of the South Island.

Thanks for your patience - I fixed that and I think I'm one last step from success!

I have been checking at least 5 times now, but I can't find where I have a typo in my pins: it says "mismatch on label in pin_slidersfxg_36...

The enable outputs and input common are still not right
The drive enables could be wired in parallel as there is typically
no reason to drive them separately

Parallel Drive enable wiring could be:

+5V --> OUT0+
OUT0- --> all Drive ENA+
GND --> all Drive ENA-

Set your following error limits wide (1 inch or 25 mm)
and post a halscope plot of the following error when
you do a motion.

Hi fully_defined,

I'm an engineer with Teknic and came across your post. While we're not familiar with the exact board and pinout, the ClearPath wiring makes sense. (Good suggestions PCW)

If you encounter any problems or have other questions, please reach out directly at 585-784-7454 or teknic.com/contact/.

homing with Phase Z encoder on MESA 7i96s

Category: Advanced Configuration

Good morning, gentlemen,
I'm coming back to you because even with your advice I can't adjust my encoder. I still have my “joint 3 tracking error” problem. I've made a short video showing how the position of my encoder reacts, as soon as I touch it, I get a tracking error. on the other hand, the scale of my encoder is correct on my B axis display.

My config file are attach .

Could you help me?
Thank you
