I discovered that the bottom right button is disabled by default.
I didn't notice this as I had a 'hidden' modification to enable it.
It was experimental, that is why it is disabled. I could show you how to enable it, if you wish to try it,

PlasmaC 2.8
QtPlasmaC 2.10 or Master.

V2.8 is indeed very reliable but Qtplasmac on 2.8 is not. So many changes since then. In fact there Is a strong case to run 2.10 master branch to get th latest and greatest qtplasmac.

I got my Setup of RPI5,OlimexICE40EVB working in the test-gui.
(3 stepdir plugins, and some bitinputs) These working all in the test gui.
I did the halcompile step. starting linuxcnc with the created ini configuration.
The linuxcnc app cannot be switched on,
it reports USRMOT: ERROR: command timeout.
I'm a linuxcnc newbe so I would appreciate some hints how I could proceed to get linuxcnc running.

I bought a W11 Enterprise LTSC (not IOT) from pckeys.uk.  UK distributor.  There are cheaper vendors areound, but I had a good experience when I did 5 or so PC's a few years ago using W10 LTSC.  At the time they were about the only place online where you could buy less than a block of 200 license keys.

I bought the 'euro' version of LTSC which does not have Windows media player or MS store (Windows 11 Enterprise N LTSC).
Most people buy the non-N version.

• Make a list of hardware (graphics card, chipset, etc) and make sure you can get the drivers from the hardware vendors
• Download ISO file from MS link provided by pckeys (or other vendor)
• Burn USB using Rufus
• Install W11.  You get numerous options during installation (no games, no AI, security stuff, privacy stuff, etc.)
• Enter license key emailed by vendor.
• Update any drivers that didn't automatically install

Pretty easy.

No, Mesa 7i80 does not go with 7i77 and 7i85, the Mesa 7i92TM goes with those. 7i80 is 50 pin, 7i92 is 25/26pin.
There are other options also, the 7i77 is hard to find so a bit more searching is needed, on the 50 pin stuff i can not help, but for 25 pin stuff i used a lot, here are some options:
-7i97T it is roughly the same as 7i92TM with 7i77, with 7i85 or even better with 7i74 as this needs plain LAN cables to wire the 7i70 (48 inputs) and/or 7i71/7i72 (48 outputs sinking or sourcing), or 7i84 (32 in and 16 out)
-7i92TM (notice the M, makes it directly plugable into 7i77 so no need for IDC26 to DB25 cable and adapter), with 7i85 OR 7i74
-7i96S (step/dir and spindle) with 7i83 (analog outputs) and 7i85 (encoder and SSerial) for 7i70/7i71/7i72/7i84

I think there is also 7i93 IRC should have 3 of IDC26 headers, but not sure, should be same as 7i92 with more IO. Again, do double check this.

The original contoller (in the control cabinet) has 56 Inputs and 92 Outputs. 
I am going to ned an analog Output for the servos and a sin/cos (1 Vpp)u Input for the linear encoders. The servos also have some encoders on them, but these are only for the velocity.
Later i am going to need another analog Output for the spindle.

In my mind i am going to use a mesa 7i80HDT as a base for the daugthercards. For the spindle and the servos a 7i77 and for the linear encoders a 7i85, because that one can read the 1 Vss signal.
For the other I/Os i would use some 7i70‘s and 7i71‘s.

Please correct me, if i am going to make a mistake?

This machine has a Contour 3 controller.
At first i want to move all axis. Then the spindle and at last the toolchanger.
I want to keep the old simens servos with the bosch servocontrolls. I also want to keep the linear Heidenhein encorder. They are still in a good shape and still work.

I see there two entries for:
PROGRAM_PREFIX = /home/cnc/linuxcnc/nc_files

should only be one entry and they are both wrong. should be:
PROGRAM_PREFIX = ~/home/cnc/linuxcnc/nc_files

I don't think this is the problem bit please fix it anyways,
Then can you run linuxcnc from a terminal, do a MDI tool change and post the terminal output.

I currently bought a used Deckel FP4ATC. Now the want to retrofit it. I am going to document my journy and hopefully is going to be successful. It would be nice if someone could help me a bit. Thank you!
 

I started working on the layout of the new control cabinet using plain old cardboard, which actually works surprisingly well.

Given the space constraints, I currently think it makes sense to place the components related to the three axes on one of the side walls, and put the remaining components on the back wall. I’m not done with the puzzle yet, but it’s starting to come together.

I’d be interested in any feedback or suggestions you might have.

If a 1A fuse blows with no encoders connected and analog outputs open (or at least not shorted).
the 7I97T is damaged...

I don't use cia402 homing so someone else has to come with advice on that.
If you just want something that works you can use standard linuxcnc homing.

You can always revisit cia402 homing later on.
