Error while Running Linuxcnc

Category: Driver Boards

Well I changed the power cables to repair the power issue, tested for 5 hour, running ok.

And I installed additional RAM in 2nd slot. It worked, at least I think so. A new histogram attached with two 8gb RAM.

But I could not do the IRQ affinity till date.

Tool marker disappears when using negative diameter.

Never thought about it this way. Might need to try out if no other option is available. Thank you!

motion.adaptive-feed range problem

Category: Advanced Configuration

Hi,
I am using the motion.adaptive-feed to control my feedrate. The linuxcnc manual states:
"When adaptive feed is enabled with M52 P1, the commanded velocity is multiplied by this value. This effect is multiplicative with the NML-level feed override value and motion.feed-hold. Negative values are valid and will run the G-code path in reverse."

While trying this out, it only seems to work for the range -1...1 any values above or below that are clipped to 1 or -1.

I need to be able to set the value to greater than -1, e.g. -10 or greater. Is this possible and how can that be done?

Questions about milling machines with linear scales

Category: Milling Machines

The table (X axis) has dovetail ways and a ball screw down the center. The saddle (Y axis) has box ways and a ball screw on the side. The Y axis scale is mounted on the same side as the ball screw. The spindle is a about 6 inches away from the scale and ball screw. So it seems likely the Y axis is the issue. I'll see how much I can tighten the gib and try again.

I found the error!

After two days of checking, measuring with the oscilloscope, calculating number of pulses by measuring the frequency and pulse duration,  I was questioning my sanity.
I also throughly tested the other axis which are fine, so I compared the axis in all the files and found my error.
setp hm2_7i76e.0.stepgen.02.step_type 2
which should have been set to
setp hm2_7i76e.0.stepgen.02.step_type 0

I changed the value and had to invert the axis. Everything is running smoothly now. :)

Remap 3D Cubic Spline Interpolation code by Python

Category: O Codes (subroutines) and NGCGUI

Well, it isn't _really_ one dimensional but rather a curve in the t/x, t/y or t/z space with 't' being a parameter that increases like time or arc length. This works for any number of axes but for motion control it's usefulness would be very limited as we don't have much control over the deviation of the resulting path from the polyline that connects the given points.

I have pushed to master, a first try at dialog acknowledgement with HAL pins.
Qtdragon should have qtdragon.dialog-ok dialog-cancel dialog-no
A momentary high will answer the dialog.

If anyone tries it please test carefully and let me know what you think.

I don;t see any glaring problems in the INI.
You could try checking the system monitor to see if a particular program is stealing all the cpu cycles.
You could try a larger servo period to give the GUI more cycle time, but if this is a 'sometimes' problem, I would look at hardware: memory, storage medium, temperature, power supply.

it's not so easy to solder :(

Yes that's the one thank you! Which XO91 did you end up going with? Is that for the SPI CLK? I'm looking into having jlcpcb solder it for me, their cost for the parts is quite low.
